THE WALKING DEAD's Glen Mazzara Signs Up To Pen THE SHINING Prequel For Warner Bros.

Posted: 11 Apr 2013 11:43 AM PDT

Last July, it was reported that Warner Bros. had hired Shutter Island's Laeta Kalogridis to write a prequel to The Shining. However, Deadline now reports that the studio has entered talks with former The Walking Dead showrunner Glen Mazzara to write The Overlook Hotel. This will be a prequel to Stanley Kubrick's The Shining, but won't have any relation to upcoming novel Dr Sleep (a sequel to the original book) and it's thought that Stephen King won't have any involvement with this prequel. Personally, I would prefer to see a faithful adaptation of The Shining rather than a film not based on any of King's work, but what do you guys think? Sound off with your thoughts below!

Sylvester Stallone Wants Mel Gibson to Direct The Expendables 3

Posted: 11 Apr 2013 11:24 AM PDT

Sylvester Stallone took to his Twitter page earlier today to ask his fans what they thought of Mel Gibson possibly directing The Expendables 3. Take a look at the action star's tweets, then read on for more about this action sequel.

What about Mel Gibson directing EXPENDABLES FIVE???

— Sylvester Stallone (@TheSlyStallone) April 11, 2013

No , I was kiddiing about , but seriously , what about Mel Gibson directing EXPENDABLES 3?Opinions anyone ?Curious.....

— Sylvester Stallone (@TheSlyStallone) April 11, 2013

Mel Gibson may direct The Expendables 3

While Sylvester Stallone's query does seem to come out of left field, this isn't the first time he has given an update regarding the sequel on the social media platform. Last month, the actor revealed that Steven Seagal will not be a part of The Expendables 3, but they may "get lucky" and get Jackie Chan.

Mel Gibson won an Oscar for directing the 1995 Best Picture winner Braveheart. He has also directed The Man Without a Face (1993), The Passion of the Christ (2004), and Apocalypto (2006).

The Expendables 3 is in development and stars Nicolas Cage, Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham.
