Ben Kinglsey On The Mandarin “Twist” In IRON MAN 3

Posted: 30 Apr 2013 10:59 AM PDT

As North America awaits this Friday's release of Iron Man 3, the acclaimed Marvel film has been rolling out in foreign markets, breaking records along the way, and unloading all the Shane Black-directed action. One of the film's most controversial aspects has been a twist involving Sir Ben Kingsley's portrayal of The Mandarin. The Huffington Post pressed the Oscar-winning thespian about the "twist," asking if he would have been more excited playing the villain straightforward. "Totally. Because the way that [screenplay writer] Drew [Pearce] and Shane constructed those political broadcasts, they're very well thought through. The attack on Western iconography, cultural values, historical context of imperialism -- all that weaponry at his command to manipulate and terrify his viewers with these broadcasts with which he interrupts the airwaves were very compelling indeed. I forgot all about the twist until I got to it in the script. I just read it page by

Lily James Cast As CINDERELLA

Posted: 30 Apr 2013 10:41 AM PDT

Walt Disney have just sent out a very brief press release announcing that Downton Abbey's Lily James will play Cinderella in their live action adaptation of the classic fairytale. Actress Lily James (Downton Abbey) has been cast as Cinderella in Disney's upcoming live-action interpretation of the beloved classic tale. The film is being directed by Sir Kenneth Branagh and stars Cate Blanchett as the iconic evil stepmother. Additional announcements regarding Cinderella are expected in the coming weeks. After Harry Potter actress Emma Watson passed, word was that either Bella Heathcoate, Lily James or Margot Robbie would secure the role, and it seems James (also seen in Wrath Of The Titans) was the one that the glass slipper fit best. Cate Blanchett is still on board as the Evil Queen, and last we heard Game Of Thrones actor Richard Madden (Robb Stark) is one of the names on the list to play the Prince.

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)—who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past.
