But, when asked about the rumored humor, the director had this to say: "It's news to me... I always start things with the most serious of intentions. I sometimes find humour in things that aren't funny and vice versa." As you may have heard quite often is that Tim Burton and star, Johnny Depp were huge fans of the original series when growing up. Both boast of racing home from school just to make sure they didn't

Rolling Stone Gathers Whitney Houston's Dark Side

Posted: 29 Feb 2012 10:09 AM PST

The new issue of Rolling Stone takes a look at Whitney Houston's life, including some of the demons that plagued the pop singer throughout her life.

whitney-houston.jpg

Although Whitney could be incredibly warm and charismatic, many of those who worked with her had a hard time understanding her dark side. "A lot of us talked about that, and no one could come up with an answer," Gerry Griffith, the A&R man who brought Houston to Clive Davis' attention around 1982 told the magazine. "Where is that rebellion coming from? It didn't come out for a while."

Narada Michael Walden, one of the pop star's many producers, added, "Because of her cousin Dionne [Warwick], she understood all those pretty-ass melodies from Burt Bacharach. But because she was young and from the era of Michael Jackson, Prince and Madonna, she had soul in her, too -- those rhythms. She had both sides. Plus, she was so damn gorgeous. You couldn't say no to her."

WRATH OF THE TITANS Director Promises A "Vast & Epic" Sequel

Posted: 29 Feb 2012 08:25 AM PST

Talking with the LA Times' Hero Complex, Jonathan Liebesman - director of the upcoming sequel Wrath Of The Titans, set to be released next month - discusses working on the film, a sequel to 2010's Clash Of The Titans. He said that he felt comfortable with working on such a big-budget epic film after directing Battle: Los Angeles, while also praising the mythology that the films were based on. Liebesman also comments on working with an all-star cast (Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes), what makes this movie different from Clash, and the monsters that'll be present. What drew you to directing Wrath of the Titans? I'm a huge fan of epic films that create a world you can escape to and experience the spectacle and awe of gods and monsters.
