Question about Abe in Looper (Spoilers!!!!)

so Young Joe says Abe was given a "one way ticket back" to help oversee the operation of looping and Gat-men but what about young Abe in 2044? Even though old Abe dies in 2044 by being shot by Old Joe doesn't he still have a present or young version of himself in 2044? If that's the case than whats stopping him from becoming old Abe in the future and being sent back again by the mob to do his loop all over again? Just a thought I had sorry if its been explained already.

Also, Rian Johnson should direct Metal Gear Solid...just saying

After the disappointing performance of DREDD last weekend (which now sits at #12 with a measly total of $2.2 million), it's good to know that audiences do actually still have a taste for high quality and intelligent filmmaking. After predictions of between $19 million and $20 million (still a very good opening for an R-Rated film), Looper has exceeded expectations. Earning a 'B' Cinemascore from moviegoers, it made $21.2 million in total for the weekend. However, the biggest surprise is in China, where the Rian Johnson helmed time travel adventure has taken the top spot with an estimated $24 million. New York Times Patriarch Arthur Ochs Sulzberger Dead at 86

Arthur Ochs Sulzberger, who led The New York Times to new levels of influence and profit, died early Saturday morning at his home in Southampton, N.Y. His death, after a long illness, was announced by his family.

Sulzberger took over as publisher of the newspaper in 1963 and later became the chairman and chief executive of The New York Times company.

During his 34-year tenure, the paper won 31 Pulitzer prizes, published the Pentagon Papers and won a libel case victory in New York Times vs. Sullivan that established important First Amendment protections for the press.

In 1992 Arthur passed the reins as publisher of the Times to his first son, and current publisher of the paper, Arthur Ochs Sulzberger Jr.

"Punch, the old Marine captain who never backed down from a fight, was an absolutely fierce defender of the freedom of the press," his son said in a statement.

He added that his father's refusal to back down "helped to expand access to critical information and to prevent government censorship and intimidation."

A deleted scene for Thor in The Avengers?

I was watching The Avengers on DVD last night, and I was wondering about the scene after Thor escapes from the falling prison chamber. He goes to pick up his hammer but it appears that he hesitates for a moment. I also watched the deleted scenes and noticed that there weren't any for Thor. Did anybody else feel like that would have been a perfect part for a flashback to Asgard or something?

I know it was suppose to be a remake of the Stallone Judge Dredd but the entire time all I could think of was the lockdown in an apt. complex with a drug lord controlling everything inside level by level like in The Raid: Redemption.

I'll use the English titles, and I'll keep the reviews short.

Even the Rain (2010): Spanish movie but set in Bolivia. This one's worth watching just for the scenes revolving the Incas, but it's not a historical epic. It revolves around a film crew trying make a film about the Spanish conquest but gets embroiled in the modern day political situation of that country.

The Well Digger's Daughter (2011): French, pre-WII era. Ok, this one I enjoyed, but perhaps not everyone can go for this kind of movie. This is an 'old school' movie and the morals that go along with it, and yes it ends happily. It's simple even in how it's acted and told, but it's got a charm about it. It has an escapist feel to it being set in what is shown to be a simpler French country side setting.

Where Do We Go Now? (2011): Lebanese. Set in a small village of Christians and Muslims trying to co-exist trying to isolate themselves from the sectarian violence of that country. But, it's not a full on drama as you imagine. It's a comedy-drama, and has plenty of worthy laughs.

Terraferma (2011): Italian, set in Lampedusa. Cinematography! Filippo Pucillo is one charismatic actor and very expressive. Good plot, nice setting; it's that type of drama where life just happens, and it doesn't force emotions out of you for the sake of the film's context.

The Skin I Live In (2011): Spanish. I think this one /r/movies is mostly aware of by now, but it's worth another mention. It's just a full on WTF intrigue from start to end.

The Minister (2011): French. If you liked The Ides of March, you'll like this.

My name is Matt and my brother Ryan and I run a 501(c)3 non-profit called DVDs To The Troops (http://www.dvdstothetroops.org). Essentially, we send DVDs To U.S. Troops over seas, mainly in Afghanistan and Iraq so far. To date, we've sent over 9,000 DVDs in the last 9 months.

We're trying to raise $500 for shipping this winter using Crowdtilt! We only have one day left and are only $220 away. Every $10 sends 30-40 HOURS of entertainment to our Troops.
