Lindsay Lohan Fires Back at Dubai NYE Party Planners

Posted: 31 Dec 2011 10:51 AM PST

Actress Lindsay Lohan is so mad her name is being associated with a New Year's Eve party in Dubai, she is taking legal action.
lindsay-lohan-dubai.jpg
Representatives for Lohan have sent a cease and desist letter to a Dubai-based party planning company demanding it stop using LiLo's name to promote its holiday bash, reports TMZ. The company has been heavily touting its New Year's Eve bash on board the QE2 yacht, claiming Lohan will be there, along with other celebrities. According to TMZ, Lohan's attorney stated the Playboy cover model "will suffer harm and damage" if the company continues to use her name without permission. Lohan has been making a concentrated effort to stick with her court-appointed probation duties, including community service and therapy sessions, and reportedly turned down all offers to host any New Year's Eve parties.

Met Zooey Deschanel while working at a hotel, and she was very nice and polite :)

Posted: 31 Dec 2011 10:00 AM PST

I work at a hotel that caters to LOTS of celebrities, musicians, business people, etc., and Zooey Deschanel was one of the nicest, most down to earth actors I have interacted with in a long time. She wasn't wearing makeup, yet still looked great and she also drove her own (modest) rental car and tipped well. She was very interactive, smiled, and made a normal amount of eye contact. Quite the pleasant respite from the typical douchebaggery of most celebs. Thanks for being awesome Zooey :D

Not the fabulous baker boys, she's not a singer in it, she just happens to sing. It could be an appearance in a TV show, I don't remember.

Anyone know? It's bugging me!

Happy New Year From CBM - A Look Ahead To The Greatest Year For Comic Book Movies Ever

Posted: 31 Dec 2011 09:32 AM PST

2012: The greatest year for comic book movies ever? On December 31st, 2010, I'm sure many of us all said the exact same thing about 2011. After all, Captain America, Green Lantern and Thor were all on the way to making their first ever big screen appearances, while the X-Men prequel/reboot was looking particularly (and perhaps surprisingly) good in the capable hands of Matthew Vaughn. And despite the disappointing Green Lantern, it DID indeed turn out to be quite the year for comic book fans. 2012 opens up with Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance and although it currently seems to be The Green Hornet of the year (in other words, the comic book movie that no one really cares all that much about but hopes is good all the same) the latest trailer shocked many by actually looking rather good! However, it's in April/May that things get really exciting as The

Danny DeGennaro Dead: Kingfish Guitarist Dies After Gunshot Wound to the Chest

Danny DeGennaro, a guitarist with the Grateful Dead-inspired group Kingfish, died Wednesday evening in a suburban Philadelphia home. He was 56.

According to ABC News, DeGennaro was found dying in a Levittown home with a gunshot wound to the chest. A tenant living in the basement of the building -- who has been questioned and is not considered a suspect -- found the musician and ran across the street to neighbor Nick Wilson for help.

I think I just solved the movie theater jerk talker problem...

Posted: 30 Dec 2011 08:53 AM PST

Ever see the TV show Russian Roulette, where the contestants might fall through a hole in the floor? Yeah, that's what I'm thinking.

Big comfy seats that vibrate if you're talking, texting, or doing otherwise jerk stuff, like letting your kids kick the backs of the seats in front of them. The vibration is a warning. If you keep violating the official Don't unduly annoy those around you rule, then your seat and the floor immediately below you will quickly and silently lower below the general floor where you'll be escorted out and your seat (now empty), raises up to where it was before.

1 minute of distraction, infinite justice, glorious entertainment.

Also works on airplanes.

First Look at Erica Durance as Wonder Woman in Harry's Law Episode 2.11

Posted: 30 Dec 2011 09:19 AM PST

Smallville's Erica Durance, best known for playing Lois Lane on that hit CW series, is trading one iconic DC Comics character for another as she slips into the legendary Wonder Woman Costume on an upcoming episode of Harry's Law.

On Wednesday, January 11, Erica Durance will play a psychologically damaged woman who dons the outfit, becoming a vigilante out for justice. She must then seek out the help of Harry's Law after finding herself in a bit of trouble. Check out Erica Durance in her Wonder Woman costume below, which seems to be the same exact costume worn by Adrianne Palicki in NBC's infamously discarded pilot.

Erica Durance is Wonder Woman #1

Erica Durance is Wonder Woman #2

Erica Durance spoke out about climbing into the sexy blue, red, and gold costume for Episode 2.11: Gorilla My Dreams, calling it a very surreal experience.

"It was a lot of fun. I think any woman would be lying if she didn't have a moment's hesitation...You know, you're jumping into some pretty tight clothes. But it's so much more than that. It's such an iconic character.

I will say this: There's a whole difference to being ready to wear Underoos and being ready to wear a pair of pants that are slim-fitting. I am grateful that I am wearing the pants. And I like the new costume."

Harry's Law episode 2.11, "Gorilla My Dreams" airs on NBC January 11th, 2012. The episode stars Necar Zadegan.
