THOR: THE DARK WORLD: ‘Kurse’ Is A “Lava-Like Bull,” Says Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje Posted: 02 Feb 2013 09:02 AM PST Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje recently spoke with the LA Times' Hero Complex about his role as the baddie of Bullet of the Head as well as Marvel's second Phase Two venture, Thor: The Dark World. Seemingly indicating that Algrim the Strong/Kurse's comic counterparts will translate directly on-screen, Adewale says, "It's an amalgamation of a bull and a lava-like creature. He has very animalistic tendencies but with this insatiable and unstoppable power. As an actor, that's one of the hardest things to embody. You have to realize you are probably the most powerful thing you could imagine. And you have to be that. You can't pretend, so that when you face Thor, it's real." Rehashing on the filming process, Akinnuoye-Agbaje continues, "The outfit weighed about 40 pounds. Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters Gets Heathers Writer Daniel Waters and Mean Girls Director Mark Waters Posted: 02 Feb 2013 09:19 AM PST Brothers Daniel Waters, the writer behind the cult classic Heathers, and Mark Waters, the director behind Mean Girls, both made their mark on pop culture with two similar movies that play as companion pieces. Now, they are joining forces to bring the Richelle Mead young adult novel series Vampire Academy to the big screen with Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters. Mark will direct, while Daniel will pen this first in what is being planned as a six part saga. The story follows 17-year-old Rose Hathaway, who holds a mental and spiritual bond with her vampire friend Lissa. They both attend a school for vampires who are trying to retain some of their humanity. Casting is already underway on the film, with Zoey Deutch (Beautiful Creatures, another YA novel series headed to the screen this February) starring as Rose, and newcomer Lucy Fry, who hails from Australia, as Lissa. Rounding ou the cast, Russian star Danila Kozlovski will play Dimitri, a Serbian vampire assigned to look after and protect the two girls when they are away school. Produced by IM Global and Reliance Entertainment, executive producer Stuart Ford made the following statement. "Tonally this so different from all these movies that are so solemn and serious. This is as much Mean Girls as The Hunger Games. It is snappy irreverent, sexy and just a lot of fun. And we got the right director for that kind of movie." About the project, Daniel Waters called it a dream come true, and the perfect vehicle for him and his brother to collaborate on. "This is a dream project for us, since we have wanted to work together for so long. Richelle's mythology and the world she creates is so real and her voice so clear. These kids have real life, modern day problems. And they drink blood." If Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters, which is being shot on a modest budget, is successful, and the six books in the series head to the screen, it may even continue from there, as Richelle Mead has spun the series off into , which doesn't yet have an end in sight. We could be seeing Vampire Academy sequels and spin-offs for years to come. Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters comes to theaters in 2014 and stars Zoey Deutch. The film is directed by Mark Waters.

Die Hard 25th Anniversary Mural Time Lapse Video Posted: 01 Feb 2013 05:55 PM PST 20th Century Fox held a special event on the studio lot yesterday, unveiling an enormous mural of Bruce Willis' John McClane, in celebration of Die Hard's 25th anniversary and the release of A Good Day to Die Hard on February 14. The studio has released a time lapse video that offers a succinct look at this mural's creation, which can be seen on Stage 8 at the Fox lot. Take a look at this interesting video, then read the press release for more information. A Good Day To Die Hard - L.A. Mural Time Lapse Twentieth Century Fox marked the silver anniversary of its blockbuster Die Hard movie franchise on January 31st with a ceremony on the historic studio backlot, during which a massive mural depicting the film's iconic hero John McClane was unveiled in front of Stage 8. Bruce Willis, who has essayed McClane in all five Die Hard pictures, including the latest installment, A Good Day to Die Hard, attended the ceremony, along with his co-star Jai Courtney, who portrays McClane's son Jack in the new film, and its director, John Moore. The festivities included a reception on the 21st floor of the Fox Plaza, which Die Hard fans will recognize as 'Nakatomi Plaza' - ground zero for the non-stop action of the landmark original film. Here's what Bruce Willis had to say about playing this iconic character for 25 years. "One of the most exciting things about playing McClane is that he's definitely not a superhero. He has no special powers or abilities. He's a regular guy to whom anybody can relate. While we're always pushing the envelope to create great action sequences, I think it is McClane's relatability and sense of humor that really draws in people." 20th Century Fox Film chairman and CEO Jim Gianopulos also released the following statement. "Twenty-five years ago, Die Hard, John McClane, and Bruce Willis thrilled audiences around the world and set a new template for action and adventure. Now, on the eve of the release of A Good Day to Die Hard, we were delighted to celebrate and honor this enduring part of our studio's legendary history with this mural unveiling." Separately, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will release the Die Hard 25th Anniversary Blu-ray Collection including the first four Die Hard films and featuring an all-new 60 minute bonus disc, 'Decoding Die Hard,' on January 29th. The Die Hard mural joins murals celebrating Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back, The Simpsons, The Sound of Music, The Seven Year Itch, and The Ox-Bow Incident which adorn other Fox stages. When Die Hard exploded into theaters during the summer of 1988, it launched a new cinematic hero, John McClane, and changed the paradigm of action movies. McClane is identifiable and relatable - an ordinary man forced by circumstances to attempt extraordinary tasks. That is what separates him from the comic book heroes of most action movies, and has made McClane one of the most endearing characters in film history. Frozen Character Posters Introduce Elsa and Anna Posted: 01 Feb 2013 05:38 PM PST Arriving in theaters November 27 is Frozen, Walt Disney Pictures' latest animated adventure that will take moviegoers on a journey through some torrid terrain. Kristen Bell stars as Anna, a young adventurer who travels to find her sister, Elsa the Snow Queen (Idina Menzel), in the hopes that she will bring an end to the perpetual winter climate. Today, we have two character posters that give us a better look at these characters from this frigid tale, directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee. Three Bullet to the Head Clips Posted: 01 Feb 2013 06:25 PM PST Warner Bros. has released three clips and a TV spot from Bullet to the Head, which opens in theaters this weekend. The first clip features Jimmy Bobo (Sylvester Stallone) teaching Taylor Kwan (Sung Kang) a unique distraction technique. The other clips show two different fight scenes between Jimmy and Jason Momoa's Keegan, including a portion of the axe fight scene shown in all the trailers. Originally introduced as Tony Stark's new personal assistant, Natalie Rushman, the Black Widow infiltrates Stark Industries on behalf of S.H.I.E.L.D. as a means of accessing Stark's effectiveness as Iron Man.
