Emily Bett Rickards Discusses ARROW

Posted: 20 Feb 2013 09:32 AM PST

Speaking to TV Guide, the talented and lovely Emily Bett Rickards discusses her role in the CW's number one show, Arrow. On Felicity Smoak's role in the group. Emily Bett Rickards: Rickards: It creates a certain dynamic that was different from what Olivier and Diggle had because she's the polar opposite of Diggle in a sense that she hasn't seen anyone die and this isn't actually her regular day job. Her role now is to help them solve different crimes in Starling City as well as creating a different balance to the group that the audience, and Olivier and Diggle, will enjoy as well. She's got that awkward, quirky spunk. As much as she's socially inadequate, she's always so gung-ho to hack into something. She's really smart. I find her emotional depth and her emotional capacity interesting because she's so socially awkward. On fan reactions and the hope that Smoak and Oliver will become

SPOILER! OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL: 2 New Images Of Michelle Williams

Posted: 20 Feb 2013 09:31 AM PST

A few sources that have seen the film have confided to me that Sam Raimi's Oz: The Great and Powerful is actually a really good movie, although I still remain skeptical based on my abhorrence to a film that relies so heavily on computer-generated characters in key roles. But, these are trusted sources so I tend to believe what they are saying. As for the pictures below, I am intrigued to see Michelle Williams in a black and white image with James Franco. So we'll see her in a scene or more in Kansas, and not just the Land Of Oz. The second image is more of a spoiler as it shows her two sisters, Theodora (Mila Kunis) and Evanora (Rachel Weisz), about to attack a defenseless Glinda. Them witches be bitches. Mark Hamill Confirms Himself, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams and Anthony Daniels Are in Talks for Star Wars: Episode VII

Posted: 20 Feb 2013 08:56 AM PST

Mark Hamill says main cast is in talks for Star Wars: Episode VII

The big news last week was that Harrison Ford was officially signed on to return as Han Solo in Star Wars: Episode VII. This exciting rumor was neither confirmed nor denied by Disney and Lucasfilm, which are welcoming all speculation towards the project, since it acts as a gauge in fan interest.

Now, Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill has stepped forward to confirm that all of the main cast members from the original trilogy are in talks, but no one actor has officially signed on. This includes Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia, Harrison Ford as Han Solo, Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian and Anthony Daniels as C3PO. None of the actors will return, though, if one is left out of the story that is being written right now by Michael Arndt.

They're talking to us. George Lucas wanted to know whether we'd be interested. He did say that if we didn't want to do it, they wouldn't cast another actor in our parts, they would write us out...I can tell you right away that we haven't signed any contracts. We're in the stage where they want us to go in and meet with Michael Arndt, who is the writer, and Kathleen Kennedy, who is going to run Lucasfilm. Both have had meetings set that were postponed on their end, not mine. They're more busy than I am.

Another thing I'd want to make sure of is are we going to have the whole gang back? Is Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford and Billy Dee Williams and Anthony Daniels, everybody that's around from the original [returning]? I want to make sure that everybody's on board here, rather than just one."

Mark Hamill then went onto "sort of" confirm the recent news that this new trilogy, directed by J.J. Abrams, would be based around the Skywalker-Solo children, and that he will take on the Obi Wan role this time out.

"I'm assuming, because I haven't talked to the writers, that these movies would be about our offspring...Like my character would be sort of in the Obi-Wan range [as] an influential character...When I found out [while making the original trilogy] that ultimate good news/bad news joke...The good news is there's a real attractive, hot girl in the universe; the bad news is she's your sister...I thought, 'Well, I'm going to wind up like Sir Alec Guinness. I'm going to be a lonely old hermit living out in some kind of desert igloo with a couple of robots.'"

In returning to the franchise, Mark Hamill says he wants these new films to stay true to the originals.

"I said to George Lucas that I wanted to go back to the way it was, in the sense that ours was much more carefree and lighthearted and humorous...in my opinion, anyway....I hope they find the right balance of CGI with practical effects. I love props, I love models, miniatures, matte paintings...I'm sort of old school. I think if you go too far in the direction of CGI it winds up looking like just a giant a video game, and that's unfortunate. ... If they listen to me at all, it'll be, 'Lighten up and go retro with the way it looks.'"

Stay tuned as more Star Wars: Episode VII breaks daily.

Star Wars: Episode VII comes to theaters in 2015 and stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew.

Oscar Pistorius' Defense Disputes Non-Stop Arguing and Steroid Claims

Posted: 20 Feb 2013 09:23 AM PST

The prosecution brought damning accusations to Oscar Pistorius' bail hearing on Wednesday, claiming witnesses heard non-stop arguing leading up to Reeva Steenkamp's death and that police found steroids at the scene. The defense team fought back hard, giving the athlete some hope of avoiding further jail time leading up to the trial.

According to NBC News, multiple witnesses heard fighting coming from the Pistorius household in the hour leading up to the model's killing, but the story didn't hold up. Warrant Officer Hilton Botha, the first official on the scene, admitted during cross-examination that one witness was 1,000 feet from the athlete's residence when the shooting occurred.
