Tom Hulce as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, one of many classical composers to lead crazy livesPA

The modern music world is no stranger to scandal and weirdness. Chris Brown hitting Rihanna. Ozzy Osbourne biting the head off a bat. Phil Spector's murder trial. But stuff like that isn't limited to the modern day.

Pre-21st century composers may seem boring, but sometimes they were anything but. From mysterious deaths, to visions of ghosts, to crazy fans, the lives of composers were fraught with drama.

Below are twelve strange stories about some interesting composers.

"I'm constantly being criticized for being too skinny," said the 17-year old Wihelmina model. "I'm trying to gain weight, but my body won't let it happen. What people don't understand is that calling someone too skinny is the same as calling someone too fat. It's not a nice feeling."

Hugh Jackman Talks Jean Grey in The Wolverine Trailer

Posted: 28 Mar 2013 10:31 AM PDT

The biggest shocker to come out of The Wolverine trailer released yesterday in both a domestic (clickHere) and a longer international version (clickHere) was the reveal of Famke Janssen's return as Jean Grey. While some think its too much of a spoiler this early out, Hugh Jackman sat with MTV to discuss this important moment in the film.

The Wolverine - Trailer

The Wolverine - International Trailer

"There's no doubt that the most important relationship in his life is, we've seen through the movies...Is his relationship with Jean Grey. Yes, we saw her die at the end of X-Men: The Last Stand, but in this movie, she has a presence, which I think is vital to the movie, particularly for him confronting the most difficult thing within himself.

The movie takes place, for those following the X-Men saga, after X-Men: The Last Stand. At the beginning of our movie, we catch [Logan] post Jean Grey, post Professor X, post all of these disasters that have happened, and he wants none of it anymore. He realizes that he is part of the problem. Somehow, when he gets involved, things don't go as planned and bad things happen. So, he is away from it. He has divorced himself from the world. He is like a hermit, and he is trying to get rid of the whole idea of Wolverine and everything he has represented. And just be Logan, whatever that means.'

The actor continued, offering more in-depth details about the dying Japanese man that Logan confronts at the beginning of the trailer.

"Wolverine has known this man for sixty years, so he was involved with him, you see that in the trailer, in World War 2 and he saved his live there. Now, sixty years later, he is in a way the King of Japan in a business sense. He's a leader, and not well at the beginning of that movie. He wants to make good on the past and reconnect with the man that saved his life sixty years ago."

Svetlana Khodchenkova (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy) plays one of the main villains in the film, Viper. Hugh Jackman gave some insight into this character.

"Viper? Badass! For someone who plays Wolverine, she is pretty badass. She's not your girl next door. You're going to end up kind of loving every minute she has on screen. There are so many actors in this film that people aren't going to know. Which is exciting. It's tempting to fill parts with people we know. Yet, what I think is great about the story is, you have Wolverine going into a world that he knows nothing about. I think the audience is going to feel the same way. You are not going to know who is who or what they represent. Are they good or bad? Trust me, you are not going to know until the last frame of the movie."

One of the many complaints about the trailer has been the CGI bullet train sequence. Hugh Jackman also commented on this moment in the film.

"It is insane. It was insane to shoot it. It was, again, one of those brilliant ideas. One of the most emblematic things about Japan is the bullet train. I can't go on the bullet train without any incident. It was hairy, shooting that stuff. To re-create what that is like, the kind of winds at 300 miles per hour, let me just say, looking back at some of the footage, I thought, 'It's time for a facelift.' "

Finally, the actor spoke about not only his passion for this particular one-off adventure, but also the fans, saying he's wanted to tell this story since the debut of the original X-Men in 2000.

"It's dear to their hearts. It's one of the most intriguing, interesting, and actually one of the most dominant parts of the comic book lore, Wolverine in Japan or the Japanese Saga or the Samurai Saga, it's been called. I think it is, from the very first X-Men movie I did in 1999, I saw this comic book and I remember saying to Lauren Shuler Donner, our producer, 'This is a great movie.'"

The Wolverine comes to theaters July 26th, 2013 and stars Hugh Jackman, Famke Janssen, Will Yun Lee, Brian Tee, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Hiroyuki Sanada, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima. The film is directed by James Mangold.

Judy Greer Is Ape Cornelia in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

Posted: 28 Mar 2013 09:28 AM PDT

Judy Greer joins Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

Judy Greer has signed on to play a female ape in 20th Century Fox's upcoming sequel Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. The actress will don a motion capture suit to play Cornelia, a potential love interest to Andy Serkis' Caesar. Here's what the actress had to say about signing on for this highly-anticipated follow-up.

"For so long I haven't been able to say anything about it, so this is exciting! It's a very different kind of work than I'm used to. I'm not going to be wearing Manolo Blahniks in this one."

Primarily known as a comedic actress, who recently starred in Jeff Who Lives at Home and The Descendants, Judy Greer revealed that she lobbied for the part after re-connecting with her 13 Going on 30 co-star Andy Serkis during The Descendants' award season push. She also spoke about her marriage to a man who is obsessed with the entire franchise.

"I married a man who ... I'm gonna use the word obsessed. He is obsessed with Planet of the Apes. We had a chimp husband-and-wife cake topper at our wedding. At the cocktail hour, we played Planet of the Apes and Rise of the Planet of the Apes on two separate televisions in the bar area. And on the wedding gift I bought him, a vintage Rolex, I had it engraved, 'Ape shall not kill ape.' I was then told that, technically, it's 'Ape shall never kill ape,' but there wasn't enough space for engraving purposes."

Matt Reeves is directing from a screenplay by Mark Bomback. It isn't known when production will begin. Judy Greer will next be seen in Carrie, opening in theaters October 18.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes comes to theaters May 23rd, 2014 and stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Judy Greer. The film is directed by Matt Reeves.

BOX OFFICE G.I. JOE: RETALIATION Opens With $2.25M In Midnight Showings

Posted: 28 Mar 2013 09:50 AM PDT

Paramount Pictures' 3D sequel G.I. Joe: Retaliation has opened with a solid $2.25 million from screenings Wednesday night/Thursday midnight. It has been predicted to make anywhere in the $40-50M range this weekend, but may not match the $54.7M opening of 2009's The Rise Of Cobra. However, Paramount seems optimistic that it'll make it to at least $50M. "A little more than we expected. And tracking finished up great," an exec from the studio tells Deadline. "Maybe we do have a shot at $50M in the U.S." The actioner, which features stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Bruce Willis, could also debut with a $100M worldwide gross. Paramount is anticipating a $200M total gross worldwide, more than Rise Of Cobra's $152.3M. Do you plan on seeing G.I. Joe: Retaliation this weekend?
