FAN ART: Advert For STARK'S SHAWARMA SHACK

Posted: 11 May 2012 10:47 AM PDT

Apparently Defreest came up with this ad for Vulture after he heard about the big spike in shawarma sales in the greater Los Angeles area thanks to the references in Marvel's The Avengers. As anyone who has seen the movie (and I'm pretty sure that's everyone on here by now) knows, Robert Downey Jr. apparently ad-libbed the line - "You ever try Shawarma? There's a shawarma joint about two blocks from here. I don't what it is, but I want to try it." - as Tony Stark regains consciousness after his fall. That, and the post credits scene featuring the team chowing down at said shawarma joint resulted in a sales boost for the tasty Arabic snack. Can you imagine how much cash that place would make if it really opened up? I think I see another money spinner there Marvel, not that you need it! As is regularly reported

The Campaign Trailer Starring Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis

Posted: 11 May 2012 10:21 AM PDT

Warner Bros. has released the first trailer and a new poster for The Campaign, director Jay Roach's upcoming political comedy hitting theaters August 10. Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis star as two political rivals vying for the same North Carolina Congressional seat. Watch as the two comedians match wits in Warner Bros.' own campaign of funniness.

The Campaign Trailer

When long-term congressman Cam Brady (Will Ferrell) commits a major public gaffe before an upcoming election, a pair of ultra-wealthy CEOs plot to put up a rival candidate and gain influence over their North Carolina district. Their man: naive Marty Huggins (Zach Galifianakis), director of the local Tourism Center. At first, Marty appears to be the unlikeliest possible choice but, with the help of his new benefactors' support, a cutthroat campaign manager and his family's political connections, he soon becomes a contender who gives the charismatic Cam plenty to worry about.

The Campaign comes to theaters August 10th, 2012 and stars Will Ferrell, Zach Galifianakis, Jason Sudeikis, Sarah Baker, Katherine LaNasa, Brian Cox, Dylan McDermott, John Lithgow. The film is directed by Jay Roach.

'SLC Punk' Star Matthew Lillard, Pearl Jam Guitarist Ensure 'Fat Kid Rules the World'

Despite playing such a convincing -- and beloved -- punk in the '90s cult classic film SLC Punk, actor and fledgling director Matthew Lillard insists that he was never into the scene himself.

"I liked punk rock music, but I didn't love it," Lillard tells Spinner. "It was just kind of always something in the background."

Lillard was a teenaged misfit who found some salvation through art, though, so when he read a book called Fat Kid Rules the World almost a decade ago, he really identified with its music-loving outsider characters.

"I had a crazy emotional response to it," says Lillard. "You know, it's the story of an outcast and I was that same kind of kid in high school, but instead of punk rock music, I found drama. It changed my life. So I thought that something about that story was timeless. I wanted to tell it."

DARK SHADOWS Opens To $550,000 At Midnight Showings; On Course For $30M Weekend

Posted: 11 May 2012 09:46 AM PDT

Box Office Mojo reports that Dark Shadows made $550,000 from midnight showings, putting it on course for an opening weekend of $35 - $40 million. Marvel's The Avengers (it's main competition) is expected to reach anywhere between $75 million and $100 million domestically. The above projections may in fact be a little high as John Carter and Think Like a Man made a similar amount during midnight showings and ended up grossing less than $35 million in total. However, the Tim Burton helmed film is also opening internationally this weekend (where The Avengers has already been on release for over two weeks) and should perform fairly well. Stay tuned to CBM this evening for my review of Dark Shadows. STARRING: Johnny Depp as Barnabas Collins Michelle Pfeiffer as Elizabeth Collins Stoddard, Jonny Lee Miller as Roger Collins Chloë Moretz as Carolyn Stoddard Gulliver McGrath as David Collins Helena Bonham Carter as Dr. Julia Hoffman Jackie Earle Haley as Willie

Jamie Lynne Grumet probably didn't think her life would change when she posed for Time magazine's May 21 cover, breast-feeding her nearly 4-year-old son.

The cover has sparked an international debate about breast feeding and the age at which one should stop. The article in the magazine is about attachment parenting, a theory formulated by pediatrician Jim Sears in his 1992 book, "The Baby Book."

Tom Hardy has this to say about wearing the soon-to-be iconic Bane mask for the duration of the shoot.

"It's not as bad as you might think. You just put it on. Work out where you drool goes. That's it. Mask work is good fun. This one wasn't painful; there was the stunt mask and there was the up-close on for the sexy glam shots."

He also chatted about his eating habits in keeping Bane a mass of bulk.

"[I was] Eating entire villages of chickens. When I started I was about 160-something pounds. When I was done I was 190. You lift weights. You eat. You lift some more weights. You don't run anywhere because if you do cardio, you drop weight. So it's really good for heart attacks!"

Be sure to check out the latest issue of Total Film, on newsstands around the country.

The Dark Knight Rises comes to theaters July 20th, 2012 and stars Liam Neeson, Tom Hardy, Christian Bale, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Aidan Gillen, Marion Cotillard. The film is directed by Christopher Nolan.
