Elizabeth Moss Says Ex-Hubby Fred Armisen Impersonated a 'Normal Person'

Posted: 09 Mar 2012 11:04 AM PST

"Mad Men" star Elisabeth Moss showed her bad girl side in a Page Six article -- and opened up to the magazine for the first time about her failed marriage to "Saturday Night Live" funnyman Fred Armisen.

Moss admitted, "It's so hard to talk about. One of the greatest things I heard someone say about him is, 'He's so great doing impersonations. But the greatest impersonation he does is that of a normal person.'" She added, "To me, that sums it up."

The two were married in October 2009 and separated eight months later. Soon after, Armisen began dating "SNL" co-star Abby Elliot.

Moss felt slightly bad for bashing Armisen. "I'm probably gonna get a slap on the wrist," she told Page Six. "But I've just been such a good girl. And sometimes you just want to be a bad girl for a minute."

As for the upcoming season of "Mad Men," Moss is thrilled to be back playing Peggy Olsen, the once mousy, now confident junior ad exec.

"I am ecstatic with what happens this season," she gushed. "I think the audience is going to be surprised. For me, it was very meaningful with what happens to Peggy."

Roberta Flack Sings the Beatles, Recalls the Origin of 'Killing Me Softly'

If singers like Tina Turner and Millie Jackson represented the raunchier side of '70s soul, Roberta Flack represented its refined antithesis. The singer's latest effort is 'Let It Be: Roberta Flack Sings the Beatles,' which, as the title suggests, finds her tackling a dozen songs by the Fab Four and drastically reinterpreting some of them in the process. In addition to classics like the title track, 'Hey Jude' and 'Come Together,' Flack has included some less obvious choices like 'If I Fell' and George Harrison's solo cut 'Isn't It a Pity.' Spinner recently caught up with Flack to discuss the album and her legendary career.

What was the impetus for the new album?

The inspiration was just my basic love for a good song with words that I can relate to [and] find a story inside of -- even if it's not my own personal one. Just hearing the songs the Beatles did around the same time I was trying to find my way as a soloist and performer was very inspiring.

'I'm Looking Through You' was not one of the big hits, but when I was getting this album together, I looked at the words of the bridge. When they get to the part where they say, "Why, tell me why did you not treat me right?" Do you know the next line?

Angelina Jolie Responds to Kony Viral Video: 'He's a Horrible Human Being'

Posted: 09 Mar 2012 10:59 AM PST

Angelina Jolie expressed her support for the viral video that has swept the world in just a few short days, calling for the arrest of the world's most wanted criminal, Joseph Kony, fugitive leader of the Lord's Resistance Army in Uganda.

Jolie, who attended the Women's Summit event in NYC, added her voice to those supporting the movement, which hopes to eradicate Kony's crimes against children, saying, "He's an extraordinarily horrible human being, who, you know... his time has come and it's lovely to see that young people are rising up as well."

The actress, who is well-versed in worldwide humanitarian causes, added, "I've been to Uganda and Congo and been to the International Criminal Court myself and spoke with the chief prosecutor about the case and he's the one that we all want to see in jail, so I think it's great that more people are talking about it."

She continued, "I don't know anyone who doesn't hate Kony."

The video attracted an incredible wave of support on social media, has been viewed almost 60 million times on YouTube, and is the number one topic trending worldwide on Twitter. (Click here for more information on Kony2012.com.)

Jolie spoke to "Extra's" AJ Calloway at the event, and in honor of Women's Day, said her daughters "inspire me. We learn from our kids, I think more than they learn from us."

The Lone Ranger to Delve Into the Origins of the Mask Says Armie Hammer

Armie Hammer reveals The Lone Ranger explains the mask origin

Production is currently under way on Disney's The Lone Ranger, which is shooting in New Mexico and various other locales, working towards a May 31, 2013 release date. Actor Armie Hammer recently revealed that this adventure will answer all sorts of burning questions for The Lone Ranger fans, like where his iconic mask actually came from.

"There's an explanation behind the mask. All the questions like, 'Where does this come from? Why does he use this? Why the silver bullets?' All of that stuff is answered."

The Lone Ranger was almost shut down due to budgetary issues, but even though the pressure is on to deliver with a lesser budget, Armie Hammer revealed it's a very comfortable set.

"This is a big-budget movie, you're right, and I was nervous, up until lunch on the first day. I was waiting in line for food and I thought, 'This feels just like a bunch of dudes in a room with a camera making a movie.' It doesn't feel cumbersome in any way."

The actor also revealed that they also reinvent the classic "hi-ho Silver" line.

"It's less of a 'hi-ho,' and more of a 'yo.'"

The Lone Ranger comes to theaters May 31st, 2013 and stars Johnny Depp, Armie Hammer, Ruth Wilson, Helena Bonham Carter, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, Tom Wilkinson, James Frain. The film is directed by Gore Verbinski.

Shocking 'Desperate Housewives' Spoiler Revealed in Court

Posted: 09 Mar 2012 10:19 AM PST

Executive Producer George Perkins took the stand in the Nicollette Sheridan wrongful termination and battery case, and when asked if any character as big as Sheridan's had been killed off, he revealed James Denton's character will die in this Sunday's episode.

Perkins shifted uncomfortably in his seat before making the revelation, which drew gasps from a packed courtroom on Thursday. Two female jurors clasped their mouths.

Denton, who plays Mike the Plumber, testified in the trial yesterday and briefly detailed his reaction to the death of Nicollette's character, Edie Britt. "I can't say I was shocked because people get killed so often," Denton told the jurors. When asked if he wondered whether his character will die, he replied, "Always."

Sunday's spoiler wasn't the only piece of inside information Perkins reluctantly revealed. He was grilled by Sheridan's lawyer about conversations he and show creator Marc Cherry had about killing off other "Desperate Housewives" characters in order to save money.

Perkins said Eva Longoria, Marcia Cross and Felicity Huffman were "safe," but said Teri Hatcher was "under discussion."

Favourite dying words in a film?

Posted: 09 Mar 2012 09:48 AM PST

For me its a tossup between Batty from Blade Runner and Bill in Kill Bill.

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... Time to die."

"You're not a bad person. You're a terrific person. You're my favorite person, but every once in a while, you can be a real cunt. How do I look?"

'The Pest' may not be a good movie, but I think this scene is hilarious

Posted: 09 Mar 2012 09:06 AM PST

Has anyone looked at the "Netflix Top 100" list lately? It is full of 3, 4, 5, even 6-year old movies. What gives?

Posted: 09 Mar 2012 10:06 AM PST

I would have to assume that their list is just the movies that are in the most amount of queues, and that many people put Crash in their queue after it won the Oscar, but nobody actually wants to see it. I just don't believe that The Blind Side, Crash, The Bucket List, and The Hurt Locker are the 4 most popular movies right now.

Is there another explanation?

Anyone else think they need to come up with a different algorithm to update that list with movies that people are actually watching?
