Homeless Hotspots, SXSW: Controversial Company Selling 4G Access in Austin

In the bygone days of print, homeless people made money selling "street newspapers," publications created to promote entrepreneurship. Now that the world has gone digital, the New York-based advertising agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty agues, it's time to update the model.

Such is the rationale behind Homeless Hotspots, a program the company's BBH Labs is debuting at this year's SXSW Interactive in Austin. It works just like it sounds: During the convention, homeless volunteers walk around downtown with MiFi devices. Attendees wishing to partake of their Internet connection can pay what they wish, either via PayPal or with cold-hard cash.

Iron Man 3 to Feature Nanobots and Extremis

Iron Man 3 may introduce nanobots and Extremis

We're just a few months away from Marvel's The Avengers taking theaters by storm starting May 4, which is right around the time Marvel will begin production on Iron Man 3, set for release May 3, 2013. We still don't know much about the story of Iron Man 3, although a new rumor indicates Tony Stark will come in contact with Extremis. Here's a description of Extremis below.

"It's a technology-based solution to replicate the Super Soldier serum that turns Steve Rogers into Captain America."

The technology involved deals with nanobots, which are first used by terrorists and later implemented by Tony Stark to enhance his Iron Man suit and give him added super powers. This report also includes the news that Iron Man 3 will feature multiple villains. It is believed that there will be information embedded inside Marvel's The Avengers that will give us background leading into Iron Man 3.

Shane Black is directing Iron Man 3 from a screenplay by Drew Pearce. None of this has been confirmed by Marvel Studios yet, but if these developments turn out to be true, it could make Iron Man 3 a very intriguing sequel.

Iron Man 3 comes to theaters May 3rd, 2013 and stars Robert Downey Jr.. The film is directed by Shane Black.

It is said that Copenhagen is currently setting up a film fund to attract international productions, and this program is reportedly essential to the director taking his next project there. No story details were given for this untitled movie, although it is said that Woody Allen is eyeing a 2013 production start.

Woody Allen's last went to the French capital in Midnight in Paris, and his upcoming feature Nero Fiddled, which debuts in theaters June 22, is set in Rome. He also recently explored London in You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger and Match Point, along with Barcelona in Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

'Desperate Housewives' Star James Denton on Being Killed Off: 'I Didn't Tell Anybody'

Posted: 12 Mar 2012 10:41 AM PDT

"Desperate Housewives" co-star James Denton sat down with "Extra's" AJ Calloway, and revealed he knew about his character's death for months. "I didn't tell my manager, my agent, or anybody. I just told my wife," the actor said.

Denton, who played Mike Delfino for eight seasons on the ABC drama, was gunned down just five episodes before the show's finale.
Denton, who appeared on "The View" in NYC on Monday, said, "We made it to the end, and then, pop!"

The shocking secret was leaked after James took the stand in Nicollette Sheridan's wrongful termination and battery case. Sheridan, who claimed the show's creator, Marc Cherry, hit her on the head, played Edie Britt before she was killed off in the fifth season.

Having to testify was "brutal," and Denton went on to explain, "Part of [Sheridan's] case is that they hadn't killed off any big characters except Edie, so they asked me, and I was like, 'Technically, yeah, we haven't.' The next witness was one of our producers. They ask him and he's like, 'Well, except for Mike Delfino."

He continued, "And the jury's like, 'Ahh!' I think they just felt sorry for me, because this poor guy's in here, and he didn't know he was being killed!"

James told AJ he hasn't kept in contact with Sheridan, saying, "I haven't seen her since she left the show, but that whole thing is unfortunate and everybody wants it to be over with."

Mike Delfino's final farewell airs Sunday on ABC.

Sam Roberts Band, 'Graveyard Shift' -- Rockers Premiere Studio Sessions Video

Sam Roberts BandUniversal Music

Anyone who's ever had to endure the graveyard shift knows there's nothing enviable about working into the wee hours. Either you're serving dodgy customers and chugging Red Bulls to keep awake or else stuck solo holding down the eerily silence fort. Yet somehow Montreal's Sam Roberts Band make this grueling shift work almost sound romantic with talk of moonlight kisses and morning mist on this track from their latest album, 'Collider.'

'Graveyard Shift' certainly isn't a ringing endorsement for clocking in at the midnight hour but it will make you ponder the plight of the late-night worker. Check out this exclusive video for the tune, which the band, who are currently touring across Eastern Canada, recorded at The Hotel2Tango, a 24-track analogue recording studio in their hometown.

"What you see and hear was recorded live off the floor," frontman Sam Roberts tells Spinner. "Once again, thanks to Howard Billerman and Dave Pawsey for helping us put this together."
