Paradise Now, anyone?

Posted: 20 Mar 2012 10:28 AM PDT

I just watched this film in one of my classes and I was absolutely blown away(pun intended). Initially, I didn't think a movie about two suicide bombers would appeal to me let alone lead me to empathize with the men involved but that's pretty much what happened.

I don't know as much about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as I should but now I feel as if I can see why these men see this as their only option. Israel is seen as a vicious oppressor to the Palestinians, confining them within army-controlled borders while also imposing other various restrictions. Many Palestinians are convinced that the only way to resist this is through violence.

Like many people, I always assumed these men were motivated solely by religion (or, their version of it). Though I knew the situation wasn't great, I never realized just how terrible it is for the Palestinians. Don't get me wrong, I am in no way justifying what these men do... but I can say that now I see these men as the humans that they are (with emotions and reasons and concerns..if that makes any sense?)

Anybody else have any thoughts?

"Extra's" Terri Seymour caught up with Eddie Cibrian during practice runs at the Toyota Grand Prix, and the "Good Deeds" actor dished about wife LeAnn Rimes' possible deal to be a judge on "The X Factor." "They've been talking. I think she would be unbelievable on a show like that. Plus, she can sing!"

Cibrian, 38, also addressed recent baby rumors, and smiled, "Maybe! That's always a possibility, but I'm not sure." Eddie confirmed, "She's not pregnant now."

Cibrian will get behind the wheel at the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race for charity in April, and said his wife has a few reservations about the dangerous event. "She's a little scared. She's like, 'Take it easy, babe. I don't want you to get hurt.'" He added, "I'm not, no... no one's going to get hurt, it's fine."

"It's like a rush!" gushed Menounos, who added that her fellow "DWTS" contestants are going to give her a run for the mirrored ball. "After seeing everyone, who is the biggest competition, everyone?"

The two couples to take the early lead were Welsh classical singer Katherine Jenkins and her partner Mark Ballas, and actor Jaleel White and his pro Kym Johnson, who tied with high scores of 26 points.

Cuban singer William Levy and his pro partner Cheryl Burke were next on the scoreboard with 24 points. Judge Bruno Tonioli declared them "the hottest package of the season," as the duo received a rousing standing ovation.

Levy told Bargh, "I wasn't expecting it. I was hoping to do something good."

Maria and partner Derek Hough said they are going to step up their game after seeing Levy and Burke perform. Derek joked, "Next week I am going to have to come out with no pants." Maria joined in, "I am going G-string."

Arcade Fire's Texas-raised Win and Will Butler sojourned back to their native state to deliver a lecture called "Arcade Fire: Hope, Haiti & Service" at the University of Texas. The duo was joined by Win's wife and bandmate Regine Chassagne and Arcade Fire violinist Marika Anthony-Shaw to speak about their relationship with the Haitian healthcare charity Partners in Health before performing two acoustic renditions of their songs 'Haiti' and 'Wake Up.'

Their charitable involvement with the country stems from Chassagne's Haitian roots. "I started thinking, how can I ignore this petition and that petition, how is this more important than this?" she said. "Well my family is Haiti, and Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere, so hmm, that was pretty high on my list."

Robert Kirkman Reveals Who Else Nearly Met Their Maker In THE WALKING DEAD

Posted: 20 Mar 2012 10:15 AM PDT

Talking to Entertainment Weekly, Robert Kirkman has revealed that there was set to be a fifth casualty to accompany the shocking deaths of Shane, Dale, Patricia and Jimmy. Who was it? None other than Hershel himself! "Hershel was originally going to be murdered by Randall in episode 12. So we were going to lose Hershel, Randall, and Shane all in one episode, which I felt was really cool," revealed the creator of the comic book and writer/executive producer on the show. "But at the end of the day we had so much story to tell with Hershel, and he had such a central role in the ensemble, and Scott Wilson is such a phenomenal actor that we felt like it was overkill. So [he] got a reprieve." Fans of the Image series will know that Hershel eventually [SPOILER] dies at the hands of the Governor [END SPOILER] and it's obviously unknown
