The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Adds E. Roger Mitchell as Chaff Posted: 10 Aug 2012 10:02 AM PDT Lionsgate and the filmmakers of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire are pleased to announce that E. Roger Mitchell has been cast in the role of Chaff in the much anticipated film adaptation of Suzanne Collins' worldwide smash hit novel Catching Fire. A tribute from District 11, Chaff won the 45th Annual Hunger Games and will compete in the Quarter Quell. E. Roger Mitchell is an Atlanta based actor with decades of experience on the stage. His small and big screen roles have included Battle: Los Angeles, The Shield, One Tree Hill, and Tyler Perry projects including Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Daddy's Little Girls, and House of Payne. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark.   Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a "Victor's Tour" of the districts.  Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) - a competition that could change Panem forever. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will be directed by Francis Lawrence, and produced by Nina Jacobson's Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. The novel on which the film is based is the second in a trilogy that has sold more than 50 million books in print and digital in the U.S. alone.   Lionsgate will release The Hunger Games: Catching Fire on November 22, 2013. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire comes to theaters December 22nd, 2013 and stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Toby Jones. Bill & Ted 3 Lands Director Dean Parisot Posted: 10 Aug 2012 10:02 AM PDT We haven't heard much regarding Bill & Ted 3 in the last few months, except for a few tweets from Alex Winter in March where he revealed the script is ready and that they are awaiting a green light. Today we have news that Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) has signed on to direct, so a greenlight might be closer then we think. Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson, the writing team behind Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure and Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey, wrote the screenplay for this third adventure. Last April, Keanu Reeves revealed that the story would revolve around Bill and Ted writing a song that eventually saves the world. It still isn't known what studio this seqeul will land at. MGM Studios currently owns the rights to the franchise, but it is said that this package is being shopped around to other studios for co-financing. It isn't known when production will begin, although it will have to wait until Dean Parisot wraps on Red 2, which he starts shooting next spring. Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter will be back as the title characters. We also exclusively reported in April that William Sadler may return as The Grim Reaper. Bill & Ted 3 is in development and stars Alex Winter, Keanu Reeves. The film is directed by Dean Parisot. |
