Mumford and Sons Bring Gentlemen of the Road Fest to Dixon, Illinois (PHOTOS)

Dixon, Illinois -- the location for Mumford and Sons third of four Gentlemen of the Road stopovers -- is in the middle of nowhere. Located off a barren exit along Interstate 88, the tony town is in the heart of Illinois farmland, a two-hour drive through endless cornfields west of Chicago and a hour away from Illinois' Quad Cities. Until this past weekend, Dixon's only claim to fame was being the childhood home of America's 40th president, Ronald Reagan.

"It was just 'a band' wants to come to your town," explains Dixon Main Street Executive Director Josh Albrecht of how the show came to fruition. "I didn't know it was Mumford and Sons."

It is nearing 3AM on Saturday and Mr. Albrecht and his wife are enjoying pizza and the mind-blowing magic show at Mumford's after-afterparty at Dixon's Crystal Cork. Truth be told, the magic for the town really started in January when Albrecht answered a post on the National Trust for Historic Preservation seeking a main street community for "a band's" concert. Up against 400 other towns on the forum, Albrecht wrote up a proposal for why Dixon, a town of 18,000 nestled along the Rock River, was the perfect candidate for the stopover.

Happy Endings is almost back! (And when we say almost, we mean ABC won't be bringing the cult hit comedy back until October! Groan.)

To pass the time until our favorite sextet is on the air again, we thought we'd help the writers of Happy Endings by offering up a few wacky, yet totally plausible, situations that the group could find themselves in this season.

Happy Endings Scoop: What will happen to the Penny-Dave-Alex love triangle?

    1. Megan Mullally returns! The Will & Grace alum has made the rounds on TV over the last few years, but her turn as Penny's mother on Happy was particularly hilarious. Case in point: Penny (Casey Wilson) and Dana warmed our hearts by singing out their angry thoughts. This time around...

In the bleak and ominous future of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1, it's been a decade since Bruce Wayne hung up his cape, following most of the other superheroes who had been forced into retirement. Facing the downside of middle age, a restless Bruce Wayne pacifies his frustration with racecars and liquor - but the Bat still beckons as he watches his city fall prey to gangs of barbaric criminals known as The Mutants.

The return of Harvey Dent as Two-Face finally prompts Wayne to once again don the Dark Knight's cowl, and his dramatic capture of the villain returns him to crime-fighting - simultaneously making him the target of law enforcement and the new hope for a desolate Gotham City. Particularly inspired is a teenage girl named Carrie, who adopts the persona of Robin and ultimately saves Batman from a brutal attack by the Mutant leader. Armed with a new sidekick, and re-energized with a definitive purpose, the Dark Knight returns to protect Gotham from foes new ... and old.

Fanboy demi-god Peter Weller leads a stellar voice cast as Bruce Wayne/Batman. Joining Weller behind the microphone is David Selby as Commissioner Gordon, Ariel Winter as Carrie/Robin, three-time DCU veteran Wade Williams as Harvey Dent/Two-Face, and Michael McKean as Dr. Bartholomew Wolper.

Produced by Warner Premiere, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1 Blu-ray and Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1 DVD will be distributed by Warner Home Video on September 25, 2012.

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1 will be released September 25th, 2012 and stars Peter Weller, Ariel Winter, David Selby, Wade Williams, Michael McKean. The film is directed by Jay Oliva.

Frank + Derol, 'Apparition (Teaser)' -- Exclusive Video

    Frank + DerolSarah Barlow

    Who: Frank + Derol

What: When songwriter and touring musician Codi Caraco met Brandi Cyrus (yes, that's Miley Cyrus' sister) the two instantly clicked. Check out a teaser from the pair's upcoming video "Apparition" below.

The Rundown: A piano playfully glides through a California valley as Frank + Derol ride horses and catch the rays of a never ending sunset. It's just a snippet of the new tune "Apparition," but it's enough to suggest these girls know how to jam.

"'Apparition' is about the stress of life, and realizing that everything you feel and everything that you are is inside of your own head and your own heart. It's about having the power to choose love and light, to find happiness in every moment instead of letting darkness pull you under," Cyrus tells Spinner.
