Julie Benz Would Be Up For Playing 'The Wasp' In Joss Whedon's Sequel To THE AVENGERS

Posted: 25 Aug 2012 09:30 AM PDT

Best known for playing 'Rita Morgan' in Dexter, Julie Benz is no stranger to the superhero genre after roles in No Ordinary Family and Punisher: War Zone. The actress worked with Joss Whedon on both Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, and so it should come as no surprise that she was quizzed on her possible involvement with his planned sequel to Marvel's The Avengers at a fan Q&A at the Fan Expo Canada. When asked if she has heard anything about a possible role in the highly anticipated follow-up (specifically 'The Wasp'), she had this to say. "No, I haven't, but I like that rumor. Can we start it? Everybody get your phones out and tweet it, tweet it to Joss Whedon! I don't even know who Wasp is. Let's make this happen, people! Let's see the power of Twitter! I know Joss is on there, I would love that. I

I see a lot of suggestions for Anime series, but what are some good anime movies?

Posted: 25 Aug 2012 08:19 AM PDT

I just finished watching "Spirited Away" ("Sen to chihiro no kamikakushi") and absolutely loved it!

I've also seen "Akira" too which was a classic.

What are some really good anime movies that you know of? I haven't really got the time to spend getting into those tv series anymore unfortunately

I am going to be an RA this year in college and for my first bulletin board, I want to show the incoming freshmen some of the myths and truths about the college life they see in the media/movies. Can anyone help me out with giving me the name of a funny/serious college movie? and if possible, the myths that are associated with it?

TL;DR: Give a college movie name, and myth associated with it

R/movies help me ID this film I saw when I was a young lad

Posted: 25 Aug 2012 08:33 AM PDT

I saw it in the theatres when I was 7-10 years of age, which puts it being released from 1990-1993. The basic synopsis is that a white family lives, at least temporarily, in Africa. The family gets killed in either some sort of robbery gone wrong, or maybe it was a civil war or something. Two of the teenagers (a guy and a gal) take off and avoid being killed, but are being searched out by the bad guys. They also run into a Bushman? at some point (or maybe he also lived in the village) and they trek through the desert. I've looked on wikipedia and imdb with no luck. I don't recall any of the actors, either.

NBC's Utah affiliate KSL-TV has taken The New Normal off its fall lineup.

The upcoming Ryan Murphy comedy, which focuses on a gay couple who are having their first baby through a surrogate, was deemed inappropriate by the Mormon-owned station.

"From time to time we may struggle with content that crosses the line in one area or another," Jeff Simpson, CEO of KSL's parent company, Bonneville International, told The Salt Lake Tribune. "The dialogue might be excessively rude and crude. The scenes may be too explicit or the characterizations might seem offensive."

Thanks to some quick rescheduling, Ann Romney's speech at the Republican National Convention will be broadcast on ABC, NBC and CBS this Tuesday, The Los Angeles Times reports.

Since the networks committed to airing only three nights of the four-day RNC, Romney's keynote speech originally set for Monday was not going to air. Instead, CBS and ABC had opted to air re-runs of Hawaii Five-0 and Castle, respectively, while NBC would air an all-new episode of Grimm. Now Romney's speech has been shifted to Tuesday, while speeches from former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee will be relegated to Monday's non-coverage night.
