Which movie cliches annoy the crap out of you? Posted: 27 Aug 2012 08:17 AM PDT The most annoying thing for me is that moment when someone, let's call him Guy1, will call another person, (Guy2) and say something along the lines of, "Dude, you totally have to check out the news on channel 666, shit is fuckin' going down man!" Guy2 will then proceed to turn on the television and not only will it be on the channel he is looking for, he will get the news broadcast from the very beginning. ...It's the little things. So I watched the Avengers for the second time... Posted: 27 Aug 2012 08:47 AM PDT And it just still blows me away how much of a monumental achievement for film making it was. I mean think about it really. The whole project was 10 years in the making. They made movies for 3 or 4 of the main characters, that had tall the other main characters in their somewhere. Each movie had seperate directors and writers. And the movies are all good. Some better than others, but even at the worst of them, ( IMO Captain America. Just felt like it was sped through just to introduce the character and didn't develop as well as some of the other characters), they were still good films. Then they chose a director for the tie in movie, who is known for having a devoted fan base, and making amazing projects, but also has a history of projects failing with the public. On top of all that, Marvel sold themselves to Disney in the middle of all this. Oh, and one of the main characters is being played by an entirely new actor ( for the role), and no one knows how he's going to perform. Then the film itself. It's paced brilliantly. No one character gets more time than the other. It allows certain characters like Hawkeye and Black Widow to flesh out and develop. It takes the best parts of each of the original films and mixes it all together. Adds in new jokes, like Captain America's inability to understand some references. And the final battle was great. Each character gets a little fight time with the others. It's well balance and thought out. And tbh, the fucking shot where Iron Man floats down and the entire team is standing back to back in a circle, and the camera circle arounds them as they get ready for the next wave. That is one of the coolest god damn shots in movie history. It still gives me chills everytime I see it. I am by no means a Marvel fanboy but god damn was this film good. I don't see how anyone couldn't like it. [link] [70 comments] |
What are some of the most realistic fight scenes you've seen in films? Posted: 27 Aug 2012 04:56 AM PDT For me some of the fight scenes in The Bourne series are quite realistic. It's quick, not that stylized (in some scenes) and i also felt myself grimacing. But I'm interested in what are some films you've seen that you felt had really realistic and plausible hand to hand fight scenes. [link] [203 comments] |
