It was overall a good movie but wasn't what I expected it to be. Denzel Washington and John Goodman do an amazing job in this movie.

Martin Freeman And Benedict Cumberbatch Discuss THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG

Posted: 24 Dec 2012 09:34 AM PST

In the latest issue of Empire Magazine, Martin Freeman was asked about his experience filming the next instalment of Peter Jackson's The Hobbit trilogy; The Desolation of Smaug. "I'm Scrooge McBaggins," the actor (who plays Bilbo Baggins in the franchise) jokingly said about working on the set seen in the official still above. "It's about a million pieces. It's the biggest pile of gold I've ever seen! Well, obviously - I'm not used to hanging out in big piles of gold! They're all fake, obviously, but it was a big eff-off pile of gold made it very hard to walk on." Guarding that gold is none other than 'Smaug the Terrible', the dragon we caught a very brief glimpse of both at the beginning and end of this month's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. And that is of course where Star Trek Into Darkness' Benedict Cumberbatch comes in. "We weren't in the

But, somewhere in between all that work, band members -- and husband and wife -- Martina Sorbara and Dan Kurtz managed to relocate their home from England back to their hometown of Toronto.

It's the place to be now.

"Toronto's changed a lot in the past five or so years," Kurtz tells Spinner. "[Drummer Joel Stouffer] has been here for a while; he paved the way and said it's okay to move back."

Elysium Photo Reveals Sharlto Copley as the Villain Kruger

Posted: 24 Dec 2012 09:36 AM PST

Last month, we showed you a new photo from Elysium, featuring Matt Damon as Max, an ex-convict fighting for equality in a world where elite citizens live on a space station known as Elysium. Today, a new photo has surfaced from director Neill Blomkamp's sci-fi thriller, offering our first look at Sharlto Copley as the villainous Kruger. The character is the right-hand man of Jodie Foster's Secretary Rhodes, a nefarious government official who wants to keep Elysium segregated from the rest of the oppressed population on Earth. Take a look at the photo, then read on to see what Sharlto Copley had to say about his character.

Sharlto Copley as Kruger in Elysium

There were reports swirling this past summer that the District 9 actor was possibly channeling Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker in The Dark Knight, as a reference for his character. The actor revealed that quote was taken out of context, while revealing the real inspirations he drew on to play Kruger.

"The Joker was a mistaken reference. I was really just saying that that was the last time I saw a villain that inspired me: somebody that set the bar. There's no connection or likeness to The Joker in terms of the character. What I did with him - which I try to do with all my original characters - was draw from real life. I combined references from a very infamous South African military battalion called 32 Battalion, that fought in the Border Wars in South Africa, and a stereotype of character that you get in the south of Johannesburg, where the guys are a little bit more comfortable with violence!"

Elysium comes to theaters August 9th, 2013 and stars Sharlto Copley, Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, Wagner Moura, William Fichtner, Alice Braga, Diego Luna. The film is directed by Neill Blomkamp.
