I have to say Mad World in Donnie Dark. That song sums up that movie so perfectly.

I've been writing a weekly box office report for over seven years. Here's my box office review of 2012.

Posted: 28 Dec 2012 10:00 AM PST

While it covers the top ten biggest releases of 2012, it also goes into the other major hits, the middle players, and the failures & disappointments. I don't make any money whatsoever from the site, I write it purely as a hobby, and have done on one level or another for at least seven years. The review also contains links to box office articles I've written throughout the past year too.

I hope you enjoy it and thank you for your time.

Fans of the folk rock band the Mountain Goats have issued a plea to the U.S. government: name lead singer John Darnielle the United States Poet Laureate. The online petition which refers to Darnielle as "American institution" was posted on December 26 and has 400 signatures so far.

"An inspiration to poets, artists and sundry other human beings both in America and world-wide, Mr. Darnielle is a unique voice in modern word and music," the petition reads.

"For over twenty years, Mr. Darnielle has struggled on our behalf to come to terms with the base instincts of the human psyche. In literature, there is no man more worthy of recognition through the award of U.S. Poet Laureate than John Darnielle."

Man of Steel Is More Challenging Than The Dark Knight Says Christopher Nolan

Producer Christopher Nolan reveals that Man of Steel is more challenging than The Dark Knight

One of the first names we heard associated with Man of Steel was producer Christopher Nolan, who was described as a "mentor" for this highly-anticipated project back in February 2010. The news got fanboys worldwide excited, due to the massive success of his Batman blockbuster The Dark Knight. Today, the producer revealed that this Superman project is a much greater undertaking that his Batman trilogy, while praising director Zack Snyder's work at the helm.

"Zack was the perfect man to take this on. He is unbelievably skilled at creating a coherent, cohesive world -- whether it's a very stylized world, like 300, or something that's more challenging, more varied, like he did with Watchmen. In my honest appraisal, taking on Superman and creating that world is far more difficult than creating the world of The Dark Knight. He has a lot of finishing to do on the movie -- it has a very long post-production schedule because, unlike Batman, Superman flies."

The filmmaker also joked that he feels guilty talking about Man of Steel, since he has, "nothing to do."

"I actually feel guilty talking about it because I'm sitting here having nothing to do to it. I try to be as supportive as I can, and I'm just amazed by what he is doing. It's not something I would know how to do."

Man of Steel comes to theaters June 14th, 2013 and stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Michael Shannon, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Jadin Gould, Christopher Meloni. The film is directed by Zack Snyder.
