Posted: 08 Dec 2012 10:00 AM PST

The most successful James Bond film of all-time has continued to dominate the box office as it took the #1 spot in North America this weekend. According to Deadline the Sam Mendes helmed Skyfall managed to rise to this position in its fifth week of release with an estimated $3.1 million yesterday and $11 million for the weekend (taking its domestic cume to an impressive $261.6 million). Unfortunately, DreamWorks Animation's Rise Of The Guardians continues to underperform as you can see from the full Top 10 list below. What did you guys decide to check out this weekend? 1. Skyfall (Eon/MGM/Sony) Week 5 [Runs 3,401] PG13 Friday $3.1M, Weekend $11.0M, Cume $261.6M 2. Breaking Dawn Part 2 (Summit/Lionsgate) Week 4 [Runs 3,646]

NEW YORK (AP) - "Time Waits for No One," the Rolling Stones sang in 1974, but lately it's seemed like that grizzled quartet does indeed have some sort of exemption from the ravages of time.

At an average age of 68-plus years, the British rockers are clearly in fighting form, sounding tight, focused and truly ready for the spotlight at a rapturously received pair of London concerts last month.

On Saturday, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts hit New York for the first of three U.S. shows on their "50 and Counting" mini-tour, marking a mind-boggling half-century since the band first began playing its unique brand of blues-tinged rock.

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters Brazilian Poster Pays Tribute to Comin' at Ya! in 3D

Posted: 08 Dec 2012 09:52 AM PST

Modern day 3D movies try to downplay the Comin' at Ya! aesthetic of the medium, with most directors claiming its the immersive nature of the tool that has drawn them towards utilizing it on the big screen. Poking people in the eye has not been a strong selling point here in the Teens, as it was back in the 1980s heyday of 3D movies. Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters has decided to buck that trend with their latest poster, hailing from Brazil. Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton are literally springing off this one-sheet, shoving their weapons and cleavage in your face, hoping to bring some of those lost funhouse thrills back to 3D cinema. What do you think? Do you like the 'in your face' action, with bullets and arrows whizzing towards your noggin? Or would you rather your 3D look like a Jesus postcard? Take a look and decide for yourself.

Autopsy Shows No Drugs or Alcohol in Notorious B.I.G.’s System

Posted: 08 Dec 2012 10:52 AM PST

Rapper Notorious B.I.G., who was gunned down in a drive-by shooting in 1997, showed no signs of drugs or alcohol in his system at the time of his death, according to a Los Angeles County coroner's report unsealed Friday.

According to LATimes.com, the autopsy report, which had been sealed for more than 15 years, said the coroner's medical examiner ran toxicology screens for alcohol, cocaine, codeine, morphine and methamphetamine with negative results for all.

The report did say Notorious B.I.G., whose real name was Christopher George Latore Wallace, was killed by only one of the four shots he took, the one that entered his right hip and ripped up several major organs.

As one of LAPD's most infamous unsolved murder cases, an unknown assailant killed Notorious B.I.G., also known as Biggie Smalls, in March 1997, as the music star sat in the front passenger seat of a Chevrolet Suburban.

The slaying shocked the hip-hop community, coming just months after the Las Vegas slaying of another rapper, Tupac Shakur.

Fantastic Four Reboot Gets March of 2015 Release Date; The Wolverine to Be in 3D

Posted: 08 Dec 2012 08:49 AM PST

The Thing to return in Fantastic Four March of 2015

Marvel fans hoping to reacquaint themselves with Reed Richards and his Fantastic Four team will have to wait a little longer. 20th Century Fox is extending their lease on the property, with the proposed 2014 reboot now strapped with a March 6th, 2015 release date.

No casting has been announced just yet for Fantastic Four, but Chronicle director Josh Trank is at the helm of this superhero adventure. He will be working from a screenplay written by Michael Green and Jeremy Slater. It isn't known if this will be a straight up origin story, or if the screenplay will be based off a preexisting storyline in the Marvel Universe that kicks off with the team already in place.

Fantastic Four currently has no competition at the box office in the spring of 2015.

In other 20th Century Fox superhero news, it has been announced by the studio that their precious Marvel mutant spin-offs X-Men: Days of Future Past and The Wolverine will both be presented in 3D. Its not clear if X-Men: Days of Future Past will be shot in 3D or converted after the fact. It is assumed that director James Mangold will be converting The Wolverine, as filming is nearly completed and we have yet to hear that they are actually utilizing 3D cameras on set.

20th Century Fox will also be converting the already completed and in post-production adaptation of Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters for a 3D release, in theaters this August.

Now lets talk about casting. Who do you hope takes the reigns of The Thing? Who do you picture as the new Sue Storm? What about Reed and Johnny? Should they go all Asian? Maybe all African-American? What will make you mad? What will make you happy? Or should they have quit with Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, realizing this comic book just wasn't meant for the big screen?

Fantastic Four comes to theaters March 6th, 2015. The film is directed by Josh Trank.

X-Men: Days of Future Past comes to theaters in 2013 and stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, January Jones, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen. The film is directed by Bryan Singer.

The Wolverine comes to theaters July 26th, 2013 and stars Hugh Jackman, Will Yun Lee, Brian Tee, Svetlana Khodchenkova. The film is directed by James Mangold.

Dark Knight Rises Rewritten Screenplay

Posted: 08 Dec 2012 08:25 AM PST

Hello. I hope I put this in the right place. I'd like to introduce you a project I've been working on during summer and fall, so I hope you'll find it interesting.

Following Dark Knight Rises release, there were lots of discussions, articles and analysis regarding the plot and the character development. In general, the film was very likeable, but sooner or later people spawned out bunch of issues. Instead just bitching about it, I've decided, to best of my abilities, actually rewrite the screenplay, as a fan, as an experiment, as a way to is if there's actually anything behind our words. I'm not really sure has anyone ever done something like this, but I do hope that it will be interesting enough.

Today, I compiled it, and now I wish to see what other fans and viewers think about it. I hope this isn't violating any rule, my intention is not really advertise my fanwork as much as I'm interested into how&what&why discussions regarding film and film production as such.

For further info, you could visit the ad hoc blog I made, with introduction and links to the files. There are two - one is the actual screenplay, and the other list all changes, followed by explanations.

I hope it catches your attention and please, for what's it worth, share your opinion.

I think the makers of "Trouble with the Curve" should have a debate with the makers of "Moneyball"

Aside from having Clint Eastwood talking to people who aren't there, 'Curve' argues that fancy stats are no replacement for good old fashion scouting. Moneyball makes almost exactly the opposite argument.
