Hugh Jackman Confirms Wolverine Will Return in X-Men: Days of Future Past

Posted: 03 Dec 2012 10:05 AM PST

The Wolverine has barely finished shooting, and fans are already jumping past that film to the next movie Logan will be a part of. Hugh Jackman's icon mutant was recently rumored to be a returning in X-Men: Days of Future Past, and now, the actor confirms that he has been discussing the film with director Bryan Singer, the man responsible for casting Jackman in 2000's X-Men.

Hugh Jackman also reveals that his Les Miserables co-star Russell Crowe is the one responsible for landing him the role of Logan in this long-running Marvel franchise. You can watch the Access Hollywood interview, followed by Hugh Jackman's comments.

Hugh Jackman confirms his involvement in X-Men: Days of Future Past.

"There is an X-Men: First Class sequel, which Bryan Singer is directing, as you know. Which I think is awesome. It started with Bryan Singer. I know the fans are super excited. I did a three-hour, three word cameo in the last one. It literally took me three hours. As long as it took me to audition for Les Miserables. I have been talking to Bryan Singer about doing something in this. There will be more claws in this. The three is getting a little dull. Four maybe? I like that."

Hugh Jackman also talks about how Les Miserables co-star Russell Crowe helped land him the role of Logan in the X-Men franchise.

"Russell Crowe did turn down Wolverine. He turned it down and mentioned me to Bryan Singer. For that, right there, I owe him my career. You can't [pay him back for that]. I did give him a few beers the other night. I bought him a few beers and said, "Is that enough?" He said, "No."

Wolverine plays an important role in the storyline of X-Men: Days of Future Past. Having aged considerably, Logan leads a small group of mutant rebels who remain free and unharmed after the Sentinels have killed off most of their kind. The X-Men animated series has already done the story, which you can watch here.

The Wolverine comes to theaters July 26th, 2013 and stars Hugh Jackman, Will Yun Lee, Brian Tee, Svetlana Khodchenkova. The film is directed by James Mangold.

X-Men: Days of Future Past comes to theaters in 2013 and stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, January Jones, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen. The film is directed by Bryan Singer.

Luke Lalonde Rhythymnals: Born Ruffians Singer's Solo Electro-R&B

Luke Lalonde Born RuffiansMatthew Tammaro

Luke Lalonde was probably one of those kids that could never sit still. There's the urgent, jittery noise he makes as the frontman of Toronto's Born Ruffians, but then there's the fact that Lalonde is an incredibly prolific songwriter. He's not the type to let months go by without working on something while his band is off the road.

No, he's the type that would use his downtime to write, record and produce a full-length solo record.

Rhythymnals, which came out Oct. 30 via Paper Bag Records, started out in earnest as a recording experiment.

"I was living in Montreal on my own -- well, I was living with a girl, but I was living away from the band -- and I was writing a lot," Lalonde tells Spinner. "I would send the odd song to the guys, but I was completing a lot on my laptop and they were taking on a sound that wasn't a Ruffians sound. I wasn't sure if I was going to put it out or not."

Justice League Villain Possibly Revealed

Darkseid revealed as possible Justice League villain

Warner Bros. is in the process of setting up Justice League, which will bring DC Comics' biggest superheroes together for one epic adventure. And now, a rumor is stating as fact that the film will also bring one of the team's biggest advisories to the screen as well. Read on for potential spoilers.

Will Beall has been working on the screenplay for Justice League since the beginning of the year, and apparently Latino Review knows someone close enough to him to have gotten their hands on a few of the pages. They reveal that the villain will be Darkseid, the supreme monarch of the planet Apokolips and the greatest threat to the DC Universe.

This is DC Comics' official description of the infamous character.

"Darkseid is the ruler of Apokolips and Darkseid's Elite and was a major player in the cosmic war that was the Final Crisis. Unto the hell that is Apokolips came Darkseid, malice personified, a merciless tyrant who demanded unwavering devotion and abject fear from all his subjects. A being of unparalleled strength, Darkseid nevertheless preferred not to sully his gloves with combat unless provoked to action. His eyes emitted the formidable Omega Sanction, ray beams that could disintegrate, teleport, or resurrect depending on the dread lord's wishes. His sole mission in life was to find and gain control over the Anti-Life Equation which would give him the means to usurp all free will in the sentient universe. Darkseid first appeared in Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #134 (December, 1970), and was created by Jack Kirby."

At this time, Justice League does not have a set director or any cast members lined up. Warner Bros. is waiting for Man of Steel to arrive in theaters this June, to see how it fares, before moving full steam ahead on this potential blockbuster, which is scheduled for the summer of 2015. That will be the same summer as The Avengers 2 arrives in theaters.

Some folks are speculating that Darkseid will actually make an appearance at the end of Man of Steel, the same way Thanos appeared at the end of Marvel's The Avengers. Those same fans are complaining that Darkseid is a little too close to Thanos in his overall character arc. They also feel that the villain is too big to set up in a first film, which will also be introducing most of its superheroes on screen for the first time.

Justice League comes to theaters in 2015.

Ewan McGregor Open To Returning As 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' In STAR WARS EPISODE VII

Posted: 03 Dec 2012 08:19 AM PST

We've heard from a lot of actors who starred in both the prequels and original Star Wars trilogy about whether or not they would be willing to reprise their roles in Disney's "Episode VII", but Digital Spy recently caught up with Ewan McGregor to see if he would be interested in bringing 'Obi Wan Kenobi' back to the big screen. As it happens, he would, although how this would work when "Episode VII" will presumably be set long after the death of Kenobi is another thing altogether. While Alec Guinness portrayed the character in the original trilogy, the fact that he passed away in 2000 obviously means he can't return as a ghost. It wouldn't make an awful lot of sense for his ghost to suddenly become younger and it could in fact be argued that there is really no need to bring the character back in any form! What do

Quentin Tarantino explains why he wants to quit making movies. "Part of the reason I'm feeling this way is because I can't stand all of this digital stuff, this is not what I signed up for"

I saw Django Unchained (Dec. 2) at a screening in NY. Follow by a Q&A with QT.

Posted: 03 Dec 2012 08:09 AM PST

Pictures of the Q&A

First things first, if anyone was nervous that it the movie wasn't going to live up to the hype. Don't be. It's one hell of a movie. QT definitely still has it.

The movie is exactly how I (and I think most of us) envision it. A western set in the south, no rules, no remorse, no holds barred.

The actors were superb in my opinion -

I was really bummed to hear Will Smith turned it down, as I have been a huge fan of his since I was eight. But I'm so happy Jamie Foxx did it instead of him, he got down and dirty and really lived the role.

Christoph Waltz. What can I say other than, you'll know what I mean when you see him. He's air that moves through scenes so easily and drops these lines that make you smile when tensions are high. Favorite character by far.

Leo DiCaprio, he really surprised me. In the trailers I thought he may come off as corny, or it might be hard to make that jump that he is the evil villian of this universe. But for me, once he got going, it was not. His character is a deplorable human and plays it well, with some southern charm to boot.

Kerry Washington was great in this movie. You could feel her emotions coming off the screen.

And of course, Samuel L. Jackson. There's not much to say about him other than he's motherfucking Sammy Jackson. He's great, obviously and his characters is great. You'll love what he does and that's all that matters.

The story. QT is a fantastic storyteller. Whether it's through the medium of writing or directing, he knows how to relay piece by piece till you see the entire puzzle. The dialogue is top notch, delivered by a great cast, and elements of the story will surely make you smile once they've come to light.

He did a Q&A after where he talked about working with Leo on the film, how he envisioned someone older to play Candie. But when Leo sat down and told him his ideas they stuck with him, and he started to envision him in a different light. It was cool to hear DiCaprio had to work for the part. He also never broke character on set, he wouldn't be Candie all day like DDL, but he would talk in the accent and keep the same state of mind. QT said that it was nice because he could get through to Leo when he wanted, but he would much rather be talking to Candie on set.

He also talked about the implications this movie has. After the screening a woman stood up and less than five minutes in intterupted his Q&A and said "A lot of black people are not going to like this movie, I am about to have a heart attack." QT responded, clearly uncomfortable "I understand that, we knew there would be this reaction" and then she continued to heckle a bit before she was escorted out. I personally think it's history, and if you think a movie about history (it's not as factual as Lincoln but it's grounded in events, slavery did happen) is disturbing, well then join the club.

So you have both sides, in the same theater. Also QT watched the entire film in the audience with everyone and got up from the seats to do is Q&A. Seemed like a really nice guy. Almost got to shake his hand! But some guy tried to hand him his screenplay so he ran away. It's like trying to tell the poor guy about Jesus.

Also feel free to ask any question I tried to do a general overview and not give anything away. Also if I have put in anything that you feel gives anything away let me know.
