First (Obscured) Glimpse Of Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins On The Set Of The Hobbit

Posted: 30 Mar 2011 10:50 AM PDT

The guys at OneRing.Net are unsure who, or what that is in the last picture. I'd say a Dwarf without his hair and beard applied myself. Anyway, The Hobbit hits theaters November 2012 and stars Cate Blanchett, Saoirse Ronan, Orlando Bloom, Elijah Wood, Martin Freeman, David Tennant, Ian McKellen, Christopher Lee. The film is directed by Peter Jackson.

New Disney XD Ultimate Spider-Man Promo Picture!

Voice cast: J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson Vincent Martella as Spider-Man (Peter Parker) Cindy Robinson as Mary Jane Watson Colleen O'Shaughnessey as (Janet van Dyne/Wasp/Gwen Stacy) Dan Gilvezan as Uncle Ben Parker LEEE777 - I'm not a lover of the Ultimate Universe, but that said, this could become as good as the Spectacular Spider-Man once was. On another note, its a shame we'll never see J.K. Simmons ever again on the big screen as JJJ, now Sony has decided to reboot.

Zack Snyder On Henry Cavill As Superman, Amy Adams As Lois Lane And Possible Villains!

Posted: 30 Mar 2011 10:42 AM PDT

On Casting Amy Adams As Lois Lane: "Amy is really just an amazing talent. I think she grounds the part in a really amazing way, for me anyway. She's beautiful and she's smart. What we're trying to do with the project, she just really sort of embodies everything we're going for." On Casting Henry Cavill As Superman: "As you know, he was up for the role before. That was 8 years ago I think. And I think now, the thing's that awesome, the thing that i love about him is that he's a man. And I think it's been a while since we had a manly Superman. And also, he has this little bit of kindness which is important." On Whether General Zod Will Be The Villain: "I like that there's this whole process of elimination. I can't say exactly who it is. As you know, this is a secret project! I hope that when people

Lelia Broussard Dreams of Landing Rolling Stone Cover, Rocking With Prince

Lelia Broussard and her acoustic guitar were literally attached at the hip when the rising indie-pop rocker dropped by Spinner's headquarters for a performance and interview. On top of getting noticed for her songwriting talents, Broussard recently made it through to the latest round of Rolling Stone's "Do You Wanna Be a Rock 'n' Roll Star" contest, an elimination-style competition that will give the winner a place on the magazine's cover and a performance slot at Bonnaroo.

Tuning her guitar with an iPhone app and strumming between the Q&A, the 21-year-old Louisiana native discussed her latest album, 'Masquerade,' childhood dreams of diva-dom, playing gigs with Lady Gaga back when she was Stefani Germanotta and her fantasy of rocking out onstage with Prince.

How did you get started in music?

I can't remember a time when music wasn't a huge part of my life. I was singing as soon as I could talk and annoying my mom in the grocery store. I grew up in the diva age of Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, so I was like, "I'm going to be a diva!" Then I started playing guitar and writing songs and it's been a long process since then.

Well, we think it's Martin Freeman. Even the cameraman isn't sure if its actually the actor or a stand-in. But these photos do offer a look at the clothes Bilbo will be wearing. Detailed X-Men: First Class Scene Descriptions

Posted: 30 Mar 2011 10:11 AM PDT

There are some detailed descriptions in this month's First Class issue of Empire including dialog etc. So a SPOILER WARNING is obvious. The first scene they witnessed was the birth of Cerebro as Charles Xavier puts on the dome shaped helmet for the first time. It seems that in this movie's continuity, the machine was built by Henry McCoy!.. McAvoy, Fassbender, Hoult and Jennifer Lawrence enter the lab. Hoult(Hank McCoy) briefly explains what Cerebro is. "It's Spanish for brain". ..(McAvoy lowers the device onto his head).."Are you sure we cant shave your head Charles?" asks Fassbender. "Don't touch my hair" replies the egghead in waiting(that's one for the fanboys) Next, the scene glimpsed in the trailers with Fassbender ramming a knife onto an unfortunate man's hand while sitting at a table. Empire have more details as to what is transpiring here.. ..It features Erik, on a mission of vengeance against Shaw(Kevin Bacon) confronting a

Amy Adams On What Attracted Her To Play Lois Lane In Superman: Man of Steel!

Posted: 30 Mar 2011 10:03 AM PDT

While attending CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Amy Adams shared some of her thoughts on why she decided to play Lois Lane in Zack Snyder's Superman: Man Of Steel. From Hero Complex: "I think the role of women in society constantly changes. And what I love about Lois Lane is that she's been very consistently strong, successful, independent. I'm very attracted to that. It was a time when women were really — I don't want to make some grand statement because I know it will come across as a grand statement — but [women were often limited by society then and] what I loved about her was that she was able to be smart and be feminine and I think that that's something I know I'm going to teach my daughter, that you don't have to be a man to be powerful. You can be a powerful woman." Superman: Man of Steel is set to

World War Z Moves Forward with Brad Pitt

Posted: 30 Mar 2011 08:58 AM PDT

World War Z moves forward with Brad Pitt

Last we heard, Paramount Pictures' adaptation of Max Brooks' zombie novel World War Z was in financial trouble. That may not be the case any longer, as David Ellison's Skydance production house, as well as two other unknown financiers, are looking to share the $125 million budget with the studio.

Brad Pitt is still attached to star in the production, with Paramount planning a June start date for principle photography. Marc Forster is still set to direct the thriller, which looks at the aftermath of a global zombie infestation ten years down the road. Matt Carnahan is still the credited screenwriter at this point in the game.

Paramount Pictures is hoping to have the film finished before a second onslaught of zombie films infiltrates the Cineplex in the next couple of years. The genre is hot once again with Summit moving forward on the romantic living dead romp Warm Bodies, Lionsgate prepping Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Universal doing the zombie police comedy R.I.P.D., and sequels to 28 Days Later, Resident Evil, and Zombieland 2 all on the way. There is also The Kitchen Sink, which finds a teen teaming up with a zombie and a vampire to battle an alien invasion, and Paul is Undead which reimagines The Beatles as undead flesh eaters.

If Paramount doesn't move on World War Z soon, they may put the project on the back burner indefinitely due to zombie fatigue.

World War Z is in development and stars Brad Pitt.

Warm Bodies comes to theaters in 2012.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies comes to theaters in 2011.

R.I.P.D. is in development and stars Ryan Reynolds. The film is directed by Robert Schwentke.

28 Days Later was released June 27th, 2003 and stars Alex Palmer, Bindu De Stoppani, Jukka Hiltunen, David Schneider, Cillian Murphy, Toby Sedgwick, Naomie Harris, Noah Huntley. The film is directed by Danny Boyle.

Resident Evil was released March 15th, 2002 and stars Milla Jovovich, Michelle Rodriguez, Eric Mabius, James Purefoy, Martin Crewes, Colin Salmon, Ryan McCluskey, Oscar Pearce. The film is directed by Paul W.S. Anderson.

Zombieland 2 is in development .

The Kitchen Sink comes to theaters in 2014. The film is directed by Jonah Hill.

James McAvoy Reveals Some Major X-Men: First Class Spoilers!

Posted: 30 Mar 2011 09:52 AM PDT

IGN Movies, the Scottish actor goes into a great amount of detail about his role in X-Men: First Class, and below are just a few of the highlights. To read it in its entirety, be sure to head on over to the site by clicking on the link below! So does that scene with his legs happen in the film? Yeah, it does. We see why he can no longer walk and why he is in a wheelchair. And hopefully we'll find out why he lost his hair as well. In the comics he loses his hair when he sort of gains or discovers his powers. But obviously that is not the way they wanted to go in this case. Were you wondering what you would look like with a shaved head? Yeah, I shaved it not that long ago, so when I started this my hair was particularly short and they wanted me

Jazz Fest to Honor Haiti's Musical and Tragic Relationship With New Orleans

RAM HaitiDaniel Morel

When the bands RAM Haiti and Boukman Eksperyans played at the 1994 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival as part of the spring event's spotlight on Haitian arts and cultures that year, the shared aspects of the two places were hard to miss for the visiting musicians. The generations-ago influx of Afro-Caribbean traditions via the slave trade and, in particular, diaspora following the Haitian slave rebellion linked the locales by history and culture: the Vodou ceremonies and drumming that became jazz in New Orleans' Congo Square, the carnival parades, the architecture, the food. Oh yes, the food.

"Hot spices, rice and beans, a lot of similarities," says RAM Haiti founder and leader Richard A. Morse.

"We have a lot in common," says Boukman co-founder Theodore "Lolo" Beaubrun. "The food, a lot of things. New Orleans is like a Caribbean city."

Tom Hiddleston Talks Thor And Once Again Addresses The Avengers!

Posted: 30 Mar 2011 09:15 AM PDT

Transcript from Empire: Hiddleston has now seen the film, and while it's no surprise that he likes it, he sounds genuinely effusive about it. He compares it in tone to Richard Donner's Superman: The Movie. "Chris [Hemsworth] is like Christopher Reeve in that he can do two things: he can wear a big red cape without a shred of self-consciousness. But he's also funny as hell, and he's so sweet. So with all the fish-out-of-water stuff, he's so funny. So he does almost two jobs in a way."
