We have learned exclusive details that Diddy was at a Beverly Hills hair salon when he was given the horrible news. A distraught Combs immediately jumped on the phone to confirm. Later that evening, he attended Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party and is quoted by Rolling Stone as saying, "Whitney always hit you with that beautiful smile, that incredible energy. Whitney Houston had the greatest voice in the world. We truly lost an angel."

"I am deeply saddened at the passing of my ex-wife, Whitney Houston. At this time, we ask for privacy, especially for my daughter, Bobbi- Kristina. I appreciate all of the condolences that have been directed towards my family and I at this most difficult time." Said Bobby Brown. Bobby was scheduled to perform in Southhaven, Mississippi on Saturday night when he learned of the sudden and tragic news of Whitney's passing. Brown and Houston were married from 1992 to 2007 and shared a daughter named Bobbi Kristina, now 19. In 2007, in the wake of the couple's high-profile divorce proceedings, a judge awarded Houston full custody of their daughter.

How is it that Peter Jackson came to direct Lord of the Rings? Posted: 12 Feb 2012 08:58 AM PST I was looking on the wikipedia page at the development history of LOTR, but I'm unclear as to how a director like Jackson gets to direct an expensive 3 part epic. Up until that point he had done some splatter flicks, a small scale and grounded in reality movie (heavenly creatures), another small scale flick in NZ and a big budget hollywood movie that flopped-The Frighteners. Wasn't everyone involved in this taking a massive risk on someone who didn't have a track record in making these kinds of films? Posted: 12 Feb 2012 10:01 AM PST I've been trying to think of a decent idea for an Android app that would actually help people for a while now, and finally thought of something worthwhile a week ago. I learned the Android SDK while making this, but still tried to make it as polished as possible. FlickHopper is the outcome. It's an app for people that go to movie theaters and watch multiple movies in a row. You select your theater, check which movies you want to see, and a "timeline" schedule is created so you can easily see which times will work best for you. Has anyone else noticed Starship Troopers surplus gear in other movies? Posted: 12 Feb 2012 07:47 AM PST I've seen tons of it by now. The body armor, but especially the helmets, seem to pop up all the time. Today I just spotted it again in Firefly. What gives? Obviously it's cheaper than making your own props, but why is it so commonly used? Is it just cause there was so much made for all the scenes with tons of soldiers? Brown, who reunited with his old singing group, New Edition, had to stop several times to compose himself at a performance in Mississippi. Bobby, 43, told the crowd, "First of all, I want to tell you that I love you all. Second, I would like to say, I love you Whitney. The hardest thing for me to do is to come on this stage."
