Cadence Weapon: Rapper Drops Grimes-Produced Track '88' -- Listen Posted: 21 Feb 2012 02:30 PM PST Filed under: News, New Music, New Releases Alexandre Bédard February 21 is Cadence Weapon's 26th birthday and to celebrate the Montreal-based rapper (and former poet laureate of Edmonton, Alberta) has decided to give everyone on the Internet a present of their own -- a free new song. Produced by fast-rising Montreal musician/producer Grimes, '88' is a buzzy tribute to the early days of hip-hop. Acting kind of like a companion piece to Ghostface Killah's 'In Tha Park,' '88' salutes early pioneers like KRS-One and Lovebug Starski as well as supporters like Debbie Harry all while firing off now-classic phrases like "Shock, shock your body 1-2 to the beat, y'all/Freak, freak, y'all." The best part, though, is that Cadence is threatening to make dropping songs this way a regular thing. "So today marks my new habit of dropping a song/mix/video every week or so. maybe even more frequently. less bagel talk, more songs in 2012," the rapper, who's set to release his new album in the coming months, tweeted.

Marvel's The Avengers Scrapped Promo Artwork Posted: 21 Feb 2012 10:27 AM PST Marvel's The Avengers will hit theaters nationwide May 4, and you can expect several new posters and photos to arrive in the months leading up to its release. It seems a scooper has gotten a hold of some promotional posters that didn't make the cut, and you can take a look at these scrapped promotional items below, which feature Scarlett Johansson. Read on below the photos for a message from the insider. "[All these] posters were given to me before even being finalized. I got friends in high places. Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow in these mini posters exclusivley from Marvel to promote the film. They didn't make the cut for the theaters, and are ultra rare." Marvel's The Avengers comes to theaters May 4th, 2012 and stars Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Robert Downey Jr., Cobie Smulders, Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson. The film is directed by Joss Whedon.

Dr. Drew on Elizabeth Smart's Marriage: 'It Is Part of Healing' Posted: 21 Feb 2012 11:22 AM PST "Lifechangers" host Dr. Drew Pinsky talked to "Extra" on Tuesday about some of today's biggest headlines, including Elizabeth Smart's recent wedding in Hawaii. Smart, 24, who was kidnapped a decade ago, said "I do" to Matthew Gilmour, 22, after just one year together. Dr. Drew spoke of the traumatic kidnapping, saying, "It is something people can recover from and have healthy relationships. Part of that healing is having healthy intimacies." The doc also weighed in on Rihanna and Chris Brown allegedly reuniting, partying together, tweeting and even appearing on remixes of each other's songs. Dr. Drew explained, "If she doesn't make some statement about her understanding of domestic violence... if neither Chris nor Rihanna have done any work on this... this is going to end up bad." Dr. Drew also addressed Kobe Bryant's recent promise to quit cheating on wife Vanessa. Pinksy said, "When people have a long history of certain kinds of behaviors, they typically just don't stop. "I am. If it succeeds, there are potentially two or three of them and I know Andrew's signed on, Taylor's signed on, Lynn's signed on. So if it happens, I know it's the same people and there's only the hope that we can go deeper." Exclusive: Angelina Jolie Drops Clue about Getting Married Posted: 21 Feb 2012 11:22 AM PST "Extra" correspondent Jerry Penacoli received an exclusive invitation to travel to Sarajevo to watch a special screening of the Bosnian-themed "In the Land of Blood and Honey." He talked with director Angelina Jolie, who was moved to tears by the film's great response from the once war-torn city. "I didn't know how they were going to react because I know it's very hard for them to watch," said Jolie. "It's an artistic interpretation of their lives, so when I walked in and they stood up, it means everything." Significant other Brad Pitt and their six children were also there to share her special moment. As for marriage, Pitt and Jolie once said they would get married only when everyone would have an equal right to unite in matrimony. Penacoli brought up that Prop 8 had been overturned in California, so are she and Brad any closer? Angelina smiled, "Maybe." The kids might also be a contributing factor to a Brangelina wedding. "They figured out what marriage is now, they're old enough so now they kind of like the idea of it," said Jolie. "But we're still convinced that half of them just want to party." The actress said the kids love to travel. "When we say we're going somewhere, they pack their own bags. They are the first ones lined up at the door. They love it, thank God, because that's what they're stuck with. They are great travelers. They love it." Angelina explained that the children are also learning new languages. "They're all learning French, that's their second language. But a few of them have begun to learn their native language. Pax speaks Vietnamese, Maddox is learning a little Khmer and we're working on Zahara." She added, laughing, "Then they're going to be able to hide a lot from mommy and daddy."
