Fox's rain-delayed coverage of the Daytona 500 drove down numbers for most shows Monday night, but NBC still has a lot to sing about.

Despite drops in both viewership and the adults 18-to-49 demo, The Voice (14.8 million viewers, 5.4) was the top show of the night, while Smash ended its two-week skid by rising to 6.9 million and a 2.4 (up 6 and 4 percent).

Trust: Darkwave Duo Drop 'TRST' Debut With Prodigy Producer Damian Taylor

TrustArts & Crafts

Dark synth-pop duo Trust certainly are receiving a lot of love from the music community for a band claiming not to pay attention the brunt of it.

The release of singles 'Candy Walls' and 'Bulbform' on Brooklyn label Sacred Bones last year was followed by a remix by Azari & III, an opening slot for Death From Above 1979 and a "fan" video from a member of F---ed Up -- all of which helped fuel the fire for their debut album 'TRST,' now out on Arts and Crafts, as one the blogosphere's most anticipated albums of 2012.

As it happens with other Toronto-based electronic-based acts (Weeknd, Crystal Castles), Trust
prefers to leave the music up for interpretation.

"It seems hokey to try and dissect a song beyond just listening to the vocals and the music," says Robert Alfons, a soft-spoken early-twentysomething whose vocal range spans from a Pet-Shop-Boys whine to a Sisters-of-Mercy baritone. "In terms of explaining the music, I don't have that skill."

Nicollette Sheridan Lawsuit Goes to Trial

Posted: 28 Feb 2012 11:28 AM PST

Actress Nicollette Sheridan and her lawsuit against ABC and "Desperate Housewives" creator Marc Cherry will be presented in court this week.

Sheridan may take the stand, according to RadarOnline.com, in connection with her wrongful termination and battery lawsuit in which she claims she was fired from the show after going to executives alleging that Cherry hit her.

The actress, who played Edie Britt on the hit ABC show, alleges that Cherry hit her with an open hand during rehearsals in 2008 after a heated argument about the script.

Cherry vehemently denies the incident, stating in a declaration, "I did not tap, hit, or otherwise touch Sheridan because she is a woman. I also never made any rude or disparaging remarks about her gender. I have never treated Sheridan any differently than any other individual associated with the show because she is a woman."

Other "Desperate Housewives" cast members are on ABC and Cherry's witness list, including Marcia Cross, Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria and Felicity Huffman. Cherry is also expected to take the stand in his own defense.

Sheridan's planned witnesses include former ABC president, a former ABC studio executive, and several former producers of the show.

After jury selection is completed Tuesday, both sides will present their opening statements, with the trial is expected to last 11 days. The judge has already ruled Sheridan will only be able to attempt to reclaim one year's salary, $4 million, and not compensation for the show's full run.

The jury doesn't need to reach a unanimous verdict because this is a civil court case.

Does there really need to be a "Happy Birthday, [celebrity]!" post multiple times a day, every day?

Posted: 28 Feb 2012 10:37 AM PST

Could we implement something in the sidebar that would display which celebrities have birthdays each day, similar to IMDb?

That way, we wouldn't need to see multiple pictures of celebrities on the front page every single day, given that there are only 365(+1) days in a year and there are thousands of celebrities.

These posts are really nothing more than shameless karma grabs and don't generate any discussion aside from lists of quotes.

Sony Rushing 'Sparkle' for Earlier Release

Posted: 28 Feb 2012 10:50 AM PST

Singer Whitney Houston's final film, "Sparkle," may be released by Sony Pictures sooner than its originally slated Aug. 17, 2012 release date, reported TMZ on Monday. The "Sparkle" producers are racing to finish the film because of fear that Houston's performance will be illegally obtained and leaked online.

In the film, Houston stars alongside "American Idol" winner Jordin Sparks, and plays the mother of three girls who are part of a famous singing group. The movie, a remake of the popular 1976 film by the same name, is said to be one of the late singer's favorites. In addition to acting in the film, she served as Executive Producer. The "I Will Always Love You" singer has not been in a film since 1996's "The Preacher's Wife." Houston died Feb. 11 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on the eve of the Grammys. An official cause of death has not yet been determined.

Chris Hemsworth Calls THE AVENGERS "Misfits"

Posted: 28 Feb 2012 09:38 AM PST

As you've might have seen Marvel recently a brand new poster for The Avengers which was extremely stale and boring. So as you would suspect we have a rather stale and boring interview from EW about Thor in Avengers Assemble. Thor who went from an immature cocky warrior to a mature leader in about five minutes in his debut film, will continue to be mature. No way! "There's a maturity to the character because of the journey he went on, certainly. He was a petulant sort of kid at the beginning of Thor, and by the end of it hopefully you walk away thinking that he is matured and there was a grounded quality to him that wasn't there before," Remember that fish out of water humor that went over so well in the first film, expect more of that. "There are certainly moments where Thor says things and there's a sideways glance

Mark Ruffalo Compares Bruce Banner's HULK Transformation To An "Addiction Problem"

Posted: 28 Feb 2012 09:28 AM PST

One of the main mysteries for fans when it comes to Marvel's The Avengers has always been whether we would see a Hulk who was out of control, and a threat to the public and his teammates. A few things have since been cleared up and from what we now know the not so jolly green giant will pretty much be a team player. Or will he? It's clear he will ultimately fight with the team in the end, but Mark Ruffalo confirms that he will definitely still be a reluctant addition, and cause a few problems along the way! Ruffalo says Banner is a reluctant part of the team, and said his metamorphosis is as painful to the character as an addiction problem – even if he can sometimes be used for good. "The rage is something that is like going on a binger — you wake up after a blackout
