Depp told Terri Seymour he was happy to go on some rides with his children after the premiere. "Oh yes, absolutely," he confirmed. Johnny revealed he and good pal Steven Tyler are currently writing a song together. "We've been hanging out here and there. He's someone I've admired greatly for such a long time. The idea of writing songs with him is a dream come true." "Pirates 4" Trailer! Tyler, who recently released his autobiography, "Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?" had previously said he would choose Depp to portray him on the big screen. Whitney Houston Back in Rehab Posted: 09 May 2011 10:28 AM PDT Singer Whitney Houston has checked herself into rehab to deal with drug and alcohol issues. Her rep confirmed to "Extra" that Houston "is currently in an out-patient rehab program for drug and alcohol treatment. Whitney voluntarily entered the program to support her long-standing recovery process. The 47-year-old has battled drug abuse in the past. She released a comeback album in 2009, but had to cancel dates on her 2010 tour due to illness.

Dusty Springfield's Blue Plaque Replacement Unveiled by Robin Gibb Posted: 09 May 2011 01:15 PM PDT Filed under: News PA Photos A Heritage Foundation blue plaque honouring Dusty Springfield has been installed outside the West London home the singer occupied from 1968 to 1972. The plaque, a replacement for one which went missing earlier this year during renovations, was originally put up in 2001, two years after Springfield passed away at the age of 59. Heritage Foundation chairman David Graham tells Spinner, "We were very, very happy to replace it. That voice, she was one of the all-time greats."

The Last Days of American Crime Gets Director F. Gary Gray Posted: 09 May 2011 09:42 AM PDT F. Gary Gray (Law Abiding Citizen) has been set to direct The Last Days of American Crime for Radical Studios. Karl Gajdusek wrote the screenplay, which is based on the Radial Publishing comic book series created by Rick Remender. Sam Worthington is attached to star. Take a look at the official description for the comic book series below. "In the not-too-distant future as a final response to terrorism and crime, the U.S. government plans in secret to broadcast a signal making it impossible for anyone to knowingly commit unlawful acts. To keep this from the public, the government creates a distraction, installing a new currency system using digital charge cards. Enter: Graham Brick. A career criminal never quite able to hit the big score, Graham intends to steal one of the charging stations, skip the country and live off unlimited funds for the rest of his life. But the media has leaked news of the anti-crime signal one week before it was to go live...and now Graham and his team have just a few days to turn the crime of the century into the last crime in American history." Production is scheduled to begin in September on The Last Days of American Crime. The Last Days of American Crime comes to theaters in 2012 and stars Sam Worthington. The film is directed by F. Gary Gray.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Photo with Ben Walker as the President Posted: 09 May 2011 10:11 AM PDT The first official photo from Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter has arrived, which offers a look at Benjamin Walker as our fifteenth president and ancestor of the Frog Brothers. Check out this image below, along with new production information. Director Timur Bekmambetov and his crew are striving for authenticity in recreating the personal life of our fifteenth president, Abraham Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is currently shooting in New Orleans at a 179-year-old Evergreen Plantation. Seth Grahame-Smith, who wrote the popular novel upon which the film is based had this to say about the impending historical action-thriller. "There's something in the American psyche, we want our presidents to be warriors. We're giving that to Abraham Lincoln, sort of posthumously in this case." Director Timur Bekmambetov, who is shooting the film in 3D, had this to say about making Abraham Lincoln's backstory historically correct. "We are very committed. What Lincoln did was like what Jesus did 2,000 years ago: he freed people." A blend of CGI and practical historical locations will work to tell this story on screen. This will be a true period epic. About the vampires seen in the film, though? Timur Bekmambetov has decided to remain tight-lipped. All that can be said is that there look will be quite "unexpected". EXCLUSIVE: Derek Cianfrance Talks The Place Beyond the Pines Posted: 09 May 2011 09:51 AM PDT Last week we reported that Blue Valentine director Derek Cianfrance is writing and directing a new project entitled The Place Beyond the Pines, which will reunite him with actor Ryan Gosling. I recently had the chance to speak with Derek Cianfrance about the May 10 release of Blue Valentine on Blu-ray and DVD, and he spoke a bit more about this new project. Here's what he had to say below. "The next film I'm making is called The Place Beyond the Pines, which we'll shoot this summer. We're just locking up all our financing right now. It's a film about fathers and sons. It deals a lot with ancestry. Ryan Gosling is going to play a motorcycle stunt rider who comes back to the town of Schenectady to find out he has a young son from this one-night stand. He has to choose whether he's going to be a father, or whether he's going to be a motorcycle stunt rider. It's kind of a crime movie and it takes place over a couple of generations, and it's definitely very epic in scope. I'm super pumped about doing it." The director also talked a bit about the crime element in The Place Beyond the Pines, and how this movie wraps up a "trilogy" of sorts, which started with his feature debut, Brother Tied. "It's going to kind of end like a family trilogy I've been working on, from Brother Tied, which is about brothers, Blue Valentine is about husbands and wives, and this is about fathers and sons. At the same time, there are guns in the new one. I remember shooting Blue Valentine, that scene at the end of the film with Dean and Cindy in the kitchen and it was so emotional, so painful, and so difficult to get to that moment, I thought, 'This is why people put guns in movies.' Emotional violence is more difficult to get to. At the same time, when you put guns in movies, people shoot like 10,000 bullets. In The Place Beyond the Pines, there are two bullets that get shot. When the bullets get fired, they do damage. It's going to hurt." The Place Beyond the Pines is aiming for a summer shoot, once financing gets fully secured. Our report from last week also indicated that Bradley Cooper has been offered the role of a rookie cop who sparks a feud with Ryan Gosling's character. Gotti: Three Generations Gets Writer James Toback Posted: 09 May 2011 09:19 AM PDT Fiore Films, an independent production company, today announced that Academy Award-nominated screenwriter James Toback has been signed to work on the Gotti: Three Generations original screenplay. The film will be directed and rewritten by Academy Award-winner Barry Levinson with additional writing by Toback. This is the same team that made Bugsy, which earned ten Academy Award nominations. "Everyone involved with the film is very excited to have James Toback on-board," said Marc Fiore, executive producer and producer of Gotti: Three Generations and CEO of Fiore Films, LLC. "His work with Barry Levinson on Bugsy resulted in a highly acclaimed film that was widely recognized for its original screenplay." Fiore Films acquired life rights from John Gotti, Jr., the son of the late mob boss John Gotti, to the story of his life with his father. The deal marks the first time a member of the Gotti family has entered into an agreement to tell their story for a major motion picture. Production is expected to begin in late fall, with a theatrical release in late 2012. The film will be shot in New York. Gotti: Three Generations reveals the relationship of a father who lived and died by the mob code and a son who chose to leave that world behind and redeem himself. Never before has there been such an inside look at the life of the Gotti family and their world of danger, betrayal and redemption. John Gotti was head of the Gambino crime family, which in its time was the largest and most powerful crime organization in the country. Known as the "Dapper Don," John Gotti's flamboyant style and outspoken personality made him one of the most famous mobsters of the 20th century and he ruled the underworld until he died from cancer in 2002 while serving a life sentence. In 1988, at the age of 24, Gotti Jr. became a "made man," and was officially inducted into the Mafia, making him the heir-apparent to head the Gambino crime family. Luke Evans Joins No One Lives Posted: 09 May 2011 09:37 AM PDT Midnight Meat Train director Ry&#251hei Kitamura is set to direct the horror thriller No One Lives for WWE Studios, which actor Luke Evans joined over the weekend. This will be WWE Studios first thriller since Superstar Kane starred in the slasher flick See No Evil back in 2006. No One Lives, one of nine movies WWE plans to have in theaters by the end of 2012, follows a group of roving killers who pick up a young couple on the highway, only to learn that one of these newly weds isn't who they appear to be. Luke Evans is set to play one of the villains. Production is set to start June 13th in Louisiana, where WWE Studios already has a crew ready to go. No One Lives comes to theaters in 2012 and stars Luke Evans, Stephen Martines. The film is directed by Ryûhei Kitamura.
