What are 10 absolute best Johnny Depp movies? And why are they the very best?

Can anyone give me information about the movie Вий, also called Viy/Spirit of Evil (1967)?

Posted: 20 May 2011 10:19 AM PDT

Dear folks of Reddit.

I'm trying to write an essay based on the Russian horror movie Viy, but I find myself kind of stuck when it comes to finding information about this movie. Using Wikipedia as a source is not a very popular move at the universities in Sweden; therefore I've been trying to find another book that deals with how the movie Viy was seen upon in Russia and the Soviet Union, or any book at all that has any information about this film what so ever! Also, trying to Google Translate the Russian Wikipedia-page about Viy is not exactly helping me very much, as it makes little sense given such a rough translation.

I seem to have found a very interesting documentary from here: http://kinozal.tv/details.php?id=329743 by Nonna Bokareva and it's supposed to be about Viy. Sadly, I haven't found any subtitles for it, neither on English nor Swedish. If anyone has any idea how I can understand this movie or help me find subtitles, it would be much appreciated! I've even tried to get it translated by some fellow students of mine, but they regrettably had to say no due to time limitations.

So please, give me anything! Even your own personal thoughts about this movie are highly valued.

I thank anyone who's read this post, and I'm sorry if it just seems like a bunch of rambling.

Four men in a BBQ party or something like that travel through time (involuntarily it seems) to World War II.

Perry Farrell Battles Queen for a Bassist, Plots Dream Lineup for Lollapalooza 2012

For it's more than 20-year history, Jane's Addiction has had a steady core of frontman Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro and drummer Stephen Perkins. The role of bassist, on the other hand, has been a revolving door since Eric Avery split several years ago only to return for one tour and leave again. On their new album, 'The Great Escape Artist,' Jane's Addiction has had three bassists involved: Duff McKagan, who started writing with the band, TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek, now playing on the record, and Chris Chaney, who's been playing the live shows.

After all of this, the band may have ended up with the best situation, with Sitek on the album and Chaney, who played on 'Strays' and toured with the band multiple times, playing live. It is a win-win, as they can utilize both bassists, with Farrell telling Spinner he hopes to do at least three special shows with Sitek playing the new album live while Chaney will handle the remainder of the tour.

TDKR Set Pics Reveal GCPD & S.W.A.T Team, Hints At Sewer Altercation

Nothing terribly exciting after the Bane pic I know, but we still get a first look at some human beings involved in the shooting of TDKR , as opposed to more vehicles!.. And most interestingly, this snap of a costume labeled "Sewer Thug". Now I don't think it's too much of a leap to assume that there will be some type of scrap in a sewer at some point in the movie. Unless Some of the thugs in the film just hand out there on their days off or something. Many thanks to Liveforfilsm for the great photography job. Click the link below for a couple more pics

Kirstie Alley: 'I'm on Team Maria!'

Posted: 20 May 2011 10:55 AM PDT

"Dancing with the Stars" finalist Kirstie Alley sounded-off to "Extra" -- and it wasn't about the reality show's upcoming finale. The actress put Arnold Schwarzenegger on blast after recent news of a love child with housekeeper Mildred Baena. Kirstie declared, "I'm on team Maria, big-time!

"Maria's a very smart woman. She's been a friend of mine for a long time, and my view is shut-up-Kirstie-they'll-handle-it, but honestly, I'm just pissed because it's so not okay to do to your family, and your children and your wife, and I'm pissed!"

A fired-up Alley is now preparing for her giant finale showdown and talked about her dramatic weight loss. When asked exactly how much she's shed, the actress replied, "Like 375 kilos," which translates to 70 pounds! She attributes her amazing transformation to grueling dance workouts and her natural diet supplement, Organic Liaison.

Both Kirstie and dancing partner Maks say they plan on impressing the judges and audience in what they call "the whoa moment," on the season finale. Watch the dynamic duo and the rest of the finalists when they saunter into the ballroom on Monday's 'DWTS'!

Below are a few excerpts, but you can read much more by heading on over to the site by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page. On Her Experiences While Filming: It's been great. I've never spent so much time in London, and I really love it. Pinewood's great and the crew is fantastic. It's nice to be away. It's different when you're out of your environment and you don't go home every day. It's nerve-wracking to be on a production this big, in a way. Sometimes you'll have these moments of realisation, where you're doing a crazy stunt or, you know, Kevin Bacon's walking by. But the cool thing is that everyone's really nice. You could be a bit freaked out but everyone's so wonderful and different, so
