Arnold Schwarzenegger Wants Another Chance with Maria Shriver

Posted: 27 May 2011 11:00 AM PDT

Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is reportedly desperate to win back estranged wife Maria Shriver.

Author Ian Halperin, who wrote the unauthorized Schwarzenegger biography "The Governator," told "Extra" the actor/politician is a broken man. "He's actually shed tears. He knows he's done wrong, and he's begging on his knees for forgiveness and one last chance. Arnold has been making calls to Maria repeatedly, asking her for one more chance." But Halperin added, "Maria wants no part of it." Shriver was spotted Thursday having lunch with U2 lead singer Bono, who Halperin says she is leaning on for support. "Maria and Bono have been friends for years," said the author. "Maria just wanted to seek advice, and Bono's going to help Maria get over the devastation of being cheated on all these years by Arnold." In an "Extra" exclusive interview, Gigi Goyette claimed she was Schwarzenegger's secret lover for decades, beginning before he married Shriver, but when the love-child scandal broke, Schwarzenegger called Goyette in a panic. "I was a little apprehensive because I haven't talked to him in 10 years. I said, 'I don't know what to do, and he says, 'Well I would prefer if you just remained quiet." She admitted she has met Shriver several times, but never felt awkward about it. "I really didn't. This sounds kind of selfish, but I thought because I was with him before she was, that I kind of had my own little rights." Schwarzenegger's reps are not commenting, but Shriver may get the last word in a potential divorce worth hundreds of millions.

The Hobbit Confirms Orlando Bloom as Legolas!

Orlando Bloom confirmed for The Hobbit as Legolas

Director Peter Jackson took to his Facebook page earlier today with news that Orlando Bloom is now confirmed to return as Legolas in The Hobbit. Read the director's entire post below.

"Ten years ago, Orlando Bloom created an iconic character with his portrayal of Legolas. I'm excited to announce today that we'll be revisiting Middle Earth with him once more. I'm thrilled to be working with Orlando. Funny thing is, I look older-and he doesn't! I guess that's why he makes such a wonderful elf."

We reported back in April that Orlando Bloom had still not been confirmed to return for The Hobbit, even though he had been in discussions to reprise his Legolas role since December. While it isn't clear why the negotiations took so long, Legolas will indeed be returning to Middle Earth.

Orlando Bloom joins fellow The Lord of The Rings cast members Cate Blanchett, Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Ian Holm, and Hugo Weaving who all reprise their original roles in The Hobbit.

The Hobbit comes to theaters November 2012 and stars Cate Blanchett, Saoirse Ronan, Orlando Bloom, Elijah Wood, Martin Freeman, David Tennant, Ian McKellen, Christopher Lee. The film is directed by Peter Jackson.

TV Guide Network's Hollywood 411 talked to The Bachelorette's Ashley Hebert about Monday's new episode (8/7c on ABC).  "Things start to really heat up very quickly," Hebert tells 411. "I have a great first date and a little bit of a roller coaster with one of the guys." In an exclusive sneak preview, she finds herself in what could be a legally binding marriage and faces off with bad guy Bentley.

Bachelorette and Hollywood 411 host Chris Harrison reveals, "On an upcoming episode, things happen with Bentley unlike anything you've ever seen.  There's not a person in America who won't have an opinion of Bentley," he says. How happy are we that, despite the latest round of apocalyptic predictions, the world didn't end last weekend. Although for Oprah Winfrey fans, the week that followed probably felt like the End of Days. It was also the End of Season — which comes as a bit of a relief, although TV didn't take even a day's rest before launching the summer season with the premiere of a personal fave, Fox's So You Think You Can Dance.

Frank Bailey on Sarah Palin: 'She Would Be an Absolute Disaster as President'

Posted: 27 May 2011 10:36 AM PDT

Whistleblower and former Sarah Palin aide Frank Bailey opened up to "Extra" about the ex-Governor of Alaska with his thoughts on her possible run for the presidency. In his candid interview, Bailey revealed, "She would be an absolute disaster as President."

frank-bailey.jpg

The former member of Sarah Palin's inner circle dishes the dirt in a new tell-all titled, "Blind Allegiance to Sarah Palin: Our Tumultuous Years." The scathing book details Frank's four years with Palin, based on 50,000 emails he wrote or received as a campaign and administration staffer. Frank, standing by his claims, cites the insider emails as evidence that back his stories.

In "Blind Allegiance," the author paints a portrait of a fame-hungry, erratic and unethical politician. "She loves to play the victim. She cannot handle criticism." He also addresses Palin's family life and explained, "I frequently found myself in the middle of dysfunction between Todd Palin and Sarah Palin. Sarah would tell us, 'Don't trust Todd, be careful what you tell Todd... Todd talks.' It constantly put us in very awkward, difficult, weird spots."

Bristol's New Face and New Reality Show

Sarah fired back, saying the book should be placed on the fiction shelves and called it "B.S. coming from lamestream media."

Frank sent a message to the politician at the end of his interview with "Extra": "Look at the things you've done and look in the mirror. I've taken this painful step to own what I've done and I'd hope you can do the same."

The Hangover Part II Earns $31.7 Million on Thursday

Posted: 27 May 2011 09:28 AM PDT

The Hangover Part II earns $31.7 million on Thursday

The Hangover Part II had one of the biggest Thursday openings in box office history, taking in $31.7 million yesterday. The Warner Bros. comedy sequel landed the third-highest Thursday opening day gross, behind Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith ($50 million) and The Matrix Reloaded ($37.5 million).

That number includes the $10.4 million it earned through midnight screenings, which we reported on yesterday. The studio opened The Hangover Part II in 3,615 theaters, which set a new record for the widest R-rated theater count, in any genre. The Hangover Part II screened in approximately 2,600 theaters for its midnight debut.

Analysts are predicting anywhere between $110 million to $125 million for The Hangover Part II for the five-day holiday weekend frame.

Also opening on Thursday was the DreamWorks Animation sequel Kung Fu Panda 2, which took in $5.8 million on its opening day. However, since the movie skews more towards children, and most schools are still in session, Kung Fu Panda 2 is expected to do well over the weekend. Kung Fu Panda 2 is expected to rake in between $65 and $70 million between Thursday and Monday.

The Hangover Part II was released May 26th, 2011 and stars Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms, Justin Bartha, Ken Jeong, Jamie Chung, Paul Giamatti, Nick Cassavetes. The film is directed by Todd Phillips.
