Cartoon Network Delays New Young Justice Episodes

Posted: 28 May 2011 11:11 AM PDT

The Cartoon Network, for an unknown reason, has decided to delay the airing of new episodes of its popular new series Young Justice, which was scheduled to return this Friday, June 3rd. No date has been set for the series to return. The new episode titled "Targets" was supposed to air on Friday, June 3rd, but Cartoon Network has decided to change its schedule, and will now move "Young Justice" to a Friday 6.00pm time slot, and repeat the episode titled "Denial" instead of the much-anticipated "Targets". Young Justice follows a group of former side-kicks and younger heroes as they take on the injustice in the DC Universe. Robin, Aqualad, Miss Martian, Kid Flash among others have been featured on the series. While it has not been received quite as well as Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, the series has gained quite a following. As soon as we hear when the new episodes will

Could The Dark Knight Rises Be Filmed In Newark, New Jersey?

Posted: 28 May 2011 08:48 AM PDT

The mayor of Newark, New Jersey has claimed that he met with a studio team and producer to discuss the possibility of The Dark Knight Rises being filmed in the city. He also says that movie executives are currently scouting the city to film some scenes. He also jokingly suggested that he would play Nightwing (let's assume that's complete rubbish!). Despite this, a publicist for the film is saying that it's too early to consider such talks. From NJ.com: Newark Mayor Cory Booker says movie executives are scouting New Jersey's largest city to possibly film some scenes there for a new Batman movie. On his Twitter account, Booker says he met with a producer and "studio team" for the movie. Booker also says he suggested that he star as Nightwing, the DC Comics character that Dick Grayson became as an adult after giving up his role as Robin. The acting role doesn't seem promising, though.

Jack the Giant Killer begins principle photography

Principal photography is underway in London on acclaimed filmmaker Bryan Singer's 3D epic action adventure "Jack the Giant Killer," with Nicholas Hoult in the title role of Jack, for New Line Cinema and Legendary Pictures.

"Jack the Giant Killer" tells the story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack, into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend - and gets the chance to become a legend himself.

Nicholas Hoult and Bryan Singer recently collaborated on the Singer-produced "X-Men: First Class," for release later this year. "Jack the Giant Killer" also stars Eleanor Tomlinson as Princess Isabelle; Stanley Tucci as the deceitful Lord Roderick; Ian McShane as the besieged King Brahmwell; Bill Nighy as the giants' leader General Fallon; and Ewan McGregor as palace guard Elmont.

Bryan Singer will direct from a screenplay by Darren Lemke and Christopher McQuarrie and Dan Studney, story by Darren Lemke & David Dobkin. The film will be produced by Neal H. Moritz, David Dobkin, Bryan Singer and Patrick McCormick.

The creative filmmaking team includes Bryan Singer's longtime collaborators, director of photography Newton Thomas Sigel (X2: X-Men United) and editor John Ottman (X2: X-Men United). The production designer is Gavin Bocquet (Valkyrie).

"Jack the Giant Killer" is filming on location in and around London, and is scheduled for a summer 2012 release.

A New Line Cinema presentation, in association with Legendary Pictures, the film will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Jack the Giant Killer comes to theaters in 2011 and stars Nicholas Hoult, Eleanor Tomlinson, Stanley Tucci, Ian McShane, Bill Nighy, Ewan McGregor, John Kassir. The film is directed by Bryan Singer.
