Canada's Polaris Prize has gone through some growing pains over its seven year lifespan as the 200+ jurists and music fans alike try to wrap their head around a $30,000 award for the best Canadian album that declares its disdain for such factors as genre, sales, public profile, fan base, or net worth.

The latter, of course, has become an issue this year with Drake, one of the world's biggest pop stars -- a former child-star who boast-raps he's "25 sitting on 25 Mil" on bonus cut "The Motto" off Take Care. His latest album has earned outsized critical acclaim and commercial success alongside a corresponding backlash.

Last time he was Polaris eligible, Thank Me Later didn't even make the 40 album long list. This time, the Toronto rapper-slash-singer swagged his way onto the short list alongside nine nominees who similarly demonstrate the depth and breadth of Canada's modern music scene.

Along with fellow Steelers members Ben Roethlisberger, Troy Polamalu, Mike Wallace and former Steelers coach Bill Cowher, ex-football player Hines Ward was given a brief cameo as a member of the Gotham Rogues football team, who is seen in the trailer sprinting for a touchdown while the football field behind him collapses thanks to Bane. From Ward: I've run scared before but I really ran scared that day," Ward told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "They told me, 'Don't look back.' I felt the explosion when I was running. I had to wear earplugs. Usually, I'm smiling when I'm running, but that day I was actually screaming. The Dark Knight Rises is directed by Christopher Nolan(The Prestige, Inception) and stars Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Tom Hardy, and Anne Hathaway. The film will be unleashed upon audiences on the 20th of this month.
