That takes its current international total to an impressive $248.2 million, and after it grossed $64 million in North America this weekend - where it now has a domestic total of $289 million - that gives it a worldwide cume of $537.2 million. I thought it captured the essence extremely well while not remaining totally in line with the lore. I also have a soft spot for the Dead or Alive movie even though most people consider it bad. ET was actually rather believable most of the time. *2. Those stupid astronaut looking CIA people that entered the home towards the end almost ruined everything for me. Too dramatic and ridiculous IMO. *3. Does ANYONE know what brand of headphones that one kid was wearing the whole movie? They nearly covered the entirety of his head! Super funny. *4. Drew Barrymore. I didn't know she was in the movie until half way through and I yelled "HOLY SHIT is that Drew??" and my friends looked at me like I was very stupid. *5. I don't know how I missed out on E.T. growing up. I mean, I knew about it, and I knew the premise of the movie, just never had the opportunity of seeing it.
