First Clip From TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D

Posted: 15 Nov 2012 10:46 AM PST

In theaters January 4, 2013, the movie is being directed by John Luessenhop from a screenplay by Adam Marcus, Debra Sullivan and Kirsten Elms. Dan Yeager, John Dugan, Bill Moseley, Alexandra Daddario, Sue Rock, Tania Raymonde, Scott Eastwood, Gunnar Hansen, Tobe Hooper, Paul Rae, Keram Malicki-Sánchez, Ritchie Montgomery, Trey Songz, Marilyn Burns, Shaun Sipos, Thom Barry and Richard Riehle star. Lionsgate's TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D continues the legendary story of the homicidal Sawyer family, picking up where Tobe Hooper's 1974 horror classic left off in Newt, Texas, where for decades people went missing without a trace. The townspeople long suspected the Sawyer family, owners of a local barbeque pit, were somehow responsible. Their suspicions were finally confirmed one hot summer day when a young woman escaped the Sawyer house following the brutal murders of her four friends. Word around the small town quickly spread, and a vigilante mob of enraged locals surrounded the

Aaron Sorkin Reveals Steve Jobs Movie Will Consist of 3 Half Hour Pre-Keynote Scenes

Posted: 15 Nov 2012 10:50 AM PST

Aaron Sorkin, the Academy Award winning screenwriter behind The Social Network, is taking a unique approach to his upcoming screenplay for Steve Jobs. It won't be a typical biopic about the Apple co-founder, but will instead consist solely of three thirty-minute scenes, each of which will follow the moments leading up to the Keynote speeches that introduced the world to the Mac, NeXT, and the original iPod.

Back in May, Aaron Sorkin attended the D10 conference, where he talked about the pressures of bringing Steve Jobs' story to the screen, then revealing that the movie would only focus on certain, specific moments from Jobs' illustrious life.

Steve Jobs - Aaron Sorkin Talks Steve Jobs

"One of the hesitations that I had about writing the movie was that it was like writing about The Beatles. There are so many people out there, who know so much about him, that revere him, that I just saw a minefield of disappointment, frankly. People are going to want to know...'God, you left out the scene where he did this!' Or, 'You really didn't get your arms around him this way!' Or, 'You really missed the big thing about him that he did!' That is bound to happen with any piece of non-fiction. All I can say at this early stage of the game, when you are at the movies, and you see the words, 'The following is a true story." You should think of it as a painting and not a photograph. There could be many movies about Steve Jobs. In fact, there are going to be two...One thing I know for sure is that Steve Jobs was a big enough person to lead more than one life, and he is a big enough person to lead more than one movie."

Aaron Sorkin's three-part story will take place completely backstage at these showcase venues, leading up to the three individual speeches. A lot of the script will consist of dialogue, with characters conversing back and forth before the product reveals. As far as we can tell, there will be few, if any, flashback sequences.

Despite sounding anti-climactic, Steve Jobs was known to be a whirlwind force before a product launch, which promises a film that is intense and edge-of-the-seat thrilling.

Aaron Sorkin revealed this news today at the Hero Summit, where he left the crowd with this quote.

"No point in writing about someone unless they're flawed."

You can watch the full 30 minute conversation with Aaron Sorkin at the Hero Summit in the embedded video below.

Petraeus Admits to Dishonorable Conduct, Says He Did Not Divulge Classified Info

Posted: 15 Nov 2012 11:25 AM PST

Other than his CIA resignation speech, Gen. David Petraeus has not spoken publicly about his affair with biographer Paula Broadwell, but he did have an off-camera conversation with HLN reporter Krya Phillips about it.

"In our first conversation," Phillips told CNN on Thursday, Petraeus "told me he had engaged in something dishonorable. He sought to do the honorable thing in response -- and that was to come forward. He was very clear that he screwed up terribly... even felt fortunate to have a wife who is far better than he deserves."

Phillips said, "He insisted to me that he has never passed classified information to Paula Broadwell. He said this has nothing to do with Benghazi, and he wants to testify. He will testify."

Gen. Petraeus is scheduled to testify Friday before the House Intelligence Committee, and a Senate aide confirmed that he also will testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee.

EXCLUSIVE: Stone Cold Steve Austin Talks Grown Ups 2

Posted: 15 Nov 2012 10:05 AM PST

WWE Hall of Fame inductee and Redneck Island host "Stone Cold" Steve Austin returned for all-new episodes of his hit reality competition series on CMT this past Saturday, and we had the pleasure of sitting down with him for a quick chat. During our conversation, we also talked about Steve's role in the first-ever Adam Sandler sequel Grown Ups 2.

Watch our exclusive video, as Steve Austin reveals how truly funny the script was, and what his past relationship with Adam Sandler is in this all-star comedy ensemble. Is he the villain? Maybe...

Exclusive: Stone Cold Steve Austin: grown Ups 2

"Man, let me tell you something. I had so much fun. I have to laugh out loud. First of all, when I read the script...It's the first script I've ever laughed out loud about. I'm not that guy. When you are sitting there with a script, by yourself, you don't just chuckle to yourself. You reserve that for when people are around. That's what you do when you are together. But this is going to be a laugh out loud movie. I don't want to give too much of my part away in the movie, but it was an outstanding time working with Adam Sandler.

I saw a couple of the trailers, and...My gosh, it is a funny movie. I hear that it is testing through the roof. I think it's going to be a big, big hit for Adam Sandler and the guys.

I play a guy that had some past dealings with Adam Sandler back when we were kids. And I will leave it at that."

Grown Ups 2 is in development and stars Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, Rob Schneider, Salma Hayek, Maya Rudolph, Taylor Lautner.

Spring Breakers Gets Spring 2013 Release Date

Posted: 15 Nov 2012 10:04 AM PST

Spring Breakers gets a Spring 2013 release through Annapurna Pictures and A24

The highly anticipated Spring Breakers will receive a Spring 2013 nationwide theatrical release courtesy of A24 and Annapurna Pictures. The film stars Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, and Rachel Korine as four college coeds willing to do anything to have their dream Spring Break. Film also features rap star Gucci Mane, introduces the ATL Twins, and has an incredible scene-stealing turn by Academy-Award nominee, James Franco. The film is written and directed by acclaimed provocateur Harmony Korine (Kids, Gummo) and prominently features an original score by Cliff Martinez and Skrillex.

The film had its worldwide premiere at the 2012 Venice Film Festival, followed by a North American Premiere at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival where Time Out New York's Josh Rothkopf described it as "Devastatingly fun...DayGlo Miami Vice Shoot-outs melded with Girls Gone Wild skankitude and a leering, instantly quotable turn by a grill-toothed James Franco as a wanksta potentate..." The companies plan a Spring 2013 release with heavy promotion around spring break. Here's what A24 had to say in a statement.

"Leave it to Harmony to create one of the most anticipated movies of the social media generation. His film is at once incredibly mainstream and wildly subversive. We couldn't imagine a better partner on this film than Annapurna and Megan Ellison, one of the most daring producers working in film today."

Film is produced by Chris Hanley, Jordan Gertner, David Zander and Charles-Marie Anthonioz. Annapurna's Megan Ellison serves as Executive Producer on the film.

Presented by A24, Annapurna Pictures and Hero, who developed and financed the film in collaboration with Muse Productions, Spring Breakers tells the story of four sexy college girls as they plan to fund their spring break getaway by robbing a fast food joint. But that's only the beginning... At a motel room rager, fun reaches its legal limit and the girls are arrested and taken to jail. Hungover and clad only in bikinis, the girls appear before a judge but are bailed out unexpectedly by Alien (James Franco), an infamous local thug and amateur rapper who takes them under his wing and leads them on the wildest Spring Break trip in history. `Rough on the outside but with a soft soul on the inside, Alien wins over the hearts and dreams of the young Spring Breakers, and leads them on a Spring Break they never could have imagined.

Spring Breakers comes to theaters March 5th, 2013 and stars Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Rachel Korine, Ashley Benson, James Franco, Heather Morris. The film is directed by Harmony Korine.

The Luyas' 'Animator' Isn't Indie Pop: New Album is 'Not a Dance Party'

The LuyasPaper Bag

Don't call the Luyas an indie-pop band. The Montreal band's frontwoman Jessie Stein just doesn't feel like her band belongs there.

"I love a good pop song, but I think that our band has been slightly misunderstood by some people," Stein tells Spinner. "I don't think that we were ever really a pop band."

Instead, Stein believes the Luyas are closer to the art-rock scene and its experimental, free-form nature. The band's new album Animator certainly has little to do with "pop."

"When people think it's a pop record, they're like, 'Where are the hits? Why is this not catchy?' and that's never been what I've been interested in," says Stein. "it's always been more about patience and restraint."
