Watch Abraham Lincoln:Vampire Hunter then go see Lincoln at the theater. It's actually a two parter.

VH leads perfectly into Spielberg's movie. Lincoln defeats the forces of darkness in Part 1 then saves the Union in Part 2.

The 5 Best (And 1 Worst) Films Of John Carpenter

The Catholic Church happened to The Golden Compass, as far as I’m concerned. It did incredible’at the box office, taking $380million. Incredible. It took $85million in the States. The Catholic Church … lambasted them, and I think it scared New Line off.

Creative outlets are continually stifled in north america. His Dark Materials are a great fantasy trilogy that teaches children and young adults that the idea's of free inquiry, scientific advancement and the search for THE TRUTH are ideas and values worth fighting and dying for...

That being said, I enjoyed the Golden compass when I was 18, and I enjoyed it today at 23. A bear fight? i'll take that 10/10 times. Shit was bad-ass. What bothers me is the pressure that right wing fundamentalists and religious groups still have on production companies.

I expect this from hollywood, but what I want to ask you reddit is do you think we are ready for a shift in the movie making industry? Will people who believe that the truth and free thought are what freedom is start funding some of these independent producers? We need people with uncompromising values and ideas to create these motion pictures. I feel like we have forgotten this is ART. Art is meant to be truthful, something with meaning. When art is altered and presented in a new way is ceases to be art.

It becomes Propaganda.
