Kirstie Alley's Tell-All on 'GMA': John Travolta is 'Not Gay' Posted: 07 Nov 2012 10:52 AM PST Barbara Walters sat down with the outspoken Kirstie Alley on "Good Morning America" Wednesday, as Alley promotes her new book, "The Art of Men," all about the men in her life, including Patrick Swayze and John Travolta. Alley gushed about fellow Scientologist Travolta, calling him "the greatest love of my life." They starred together in the "Look Who's Talking" films, but she couldn't marry him because she was already married to actor Parker Stevenson. "I feel like when you marry someone, you're supposed to work hard at it and you're supposed to make it work," she said. Kirstie also debunked rumors her good friend is gay. "I know John. With all my heart and soul, he's not gay," she told Walters. "I think it's some weird way, in Hollywood, if someone gets big enough and famous enough, and they're not out doing drugs and they're not womanizing, what do you say about them?" |

My Bloody Valentine, New Album: Band Releasing First LP in 21 Years Posted: 07 Nov 2012 01:30 PM PST Filed under: News, New Music, New Releases Getty Images Lead singer and MBV mastermind Kevin Shields tells NME, "I think with this record, people who like us will immediately connect with something. Based on the very, very few people who've heard stuff -- some engineers, the band, and that's about it -- some people think it's stranger than Loveless. I don't. I feel like it really frees us up, and in the bigger picture it's 100 per cent necessary." The followup to Loveless will hit the web, presumably within the next few weeks. An EP of further new material will be released in its wake. |
Tarzan Lands Director David Yates; Eyes Tom Hardy, Henry Cavill and Charlie Hunnam Posted: 07 Nov 2012 09:19 AM PST David Yates, who directed the last four Harry Potter movies, is getting back in business with Warner Bros., signing on to make Tarzan. The filmmaker is also meeting with actors such as Henry Cavill, Charlie Hunnam, and Alexander Skarsgård for the title role. We reported back in June 2011 that Footloose director Craig Brewer signed on, but he has since dropped out. Warner Bros. is also interested in bringing on Tom Hardy to star in the title role, after his performances in the studio's blockbusters such as Inception and The Dark Knight Rises. It isn't known if Tom Hardy is interested in the role at this time. When Craig Brewer joined the project, it was believed that Warner Bros. was considering two different scripts, written by Craig Brewer and Adam Cozad (Jack Ryan), siding with Craig Brewer's take. It isn't known if the studio will go after a new screenwriter. The character was created by Edgar Rice Burroughs in 1912, and has been the basis of numerous movie and TV adaptation. Constantin Film also has its own Tarzan project starring Kellan Lutz. Tarzan comes to theaters in 2013. The film is directed by David Yates. |

Carrie Fisher Confirms She Wants Princess Leia in Star Wars: Episode VII! Posted: 07 Nov 2012 09:01 AM PST Earlier this week, an unidentified source revealed that Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher are "upbeat" about returning for Star Wars: Episode VII. Carrie Fisher recently went on the record, stating she would accept an offer to return as Princess Leia. Star Wars Episode VII - Carrie Fisher Interview"Yes. Sure. Wouldn't you?" It would make sense to bring Princess Leia back, along with Harrison Ford's Han Solo and Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker, since the sequel takes place after Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi. What isn't known yet is how long of a time gap there will be between Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: Episode VII. There has been no shortage of speculation swirling around this project, with directors such as Matthew Vaughn and Colin Trevorrow reportedly circling the sequel. It also isn't known yet who will be writing the screenplay. Star Wars: Episode VII comes to theaters in 2015. |
