Miami Connection Awards Trailer Asks for Oscar Consideration! Posted: 06 Nov 2012 09:36 AM PST Opening in New York last Friday, and coming to select screens in Los Angeles this Friday, the 1987 cult action thriller Miami Connection is seeking Oscar gold with a new trailer from Drafthouse Films. This epic showdown between a synth-rock band of Tae Kwon Do orphans AND motorcycle-riding, coke-dealing Ninjas surely has the stuff to go toe-to-toe with Lincoln. Right? Watch and decide for yourself as Maurice Smith pleads for a Best Supporting Actor nod for his role as 'Jim'. We think the song Friends has a real chance at garnering a Best Original Song nomination, but the fact that it is three decades old might hamper its eligibility. Kim, Vincent Hirsch, Joseph Diamand, Maurice Smith, Angelo Janotti, Kathy Collier, William Eagle, Si Y Jo. The film is directed by Y.K. Kim, Woo-sang Park. |
