Brad Furman (The Lincoln Lawyer) is directing from a screenplay by Matthew Aldrich, which spent time on the Black List. Relativity Media is behind this drama, which begins filming in September, on location in Columbia. Pablo Escobar comes to theaters in 2014 and stars Oscar Isaac. The film is directed by Brad Furman. |

According to Entertainment Weekly, ABC Studios and Sony Pictures Television are talking with USA Network about giving "Happy Endings" a new home on cable. |

| Howard Stark Practically Confirmed To Appear In CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER Posted: 11 May 2013 09:21 AM PDT Completing its sixth week of filming just yesterday, with 10 more extensive weeks to go, Marvel's Captain America: The Winter Soldier film has been dubbed The Avengers 1.5 due to its large cast of S.H.I.E.L.D.-affiliated characters. Now it seems Howard Stark, one of the founding members of the peacekeeping organization, will make an appearance in the 2014 "political thriller," returning actor Dominic Cooper. "Well... It's hard to say. We're shooting something for it," Cooper admitted to Total Film, after the English thesp was asked about reprising The First Avenger role. He added, "I've worn the costume again. But whether they just had me put it on as a joke, I don't know! [laughs] It was good fun getting back into it and he's got some very cool shades now. Chef, first reported on last month, brings Jon Favreau back to his indie roots, since he will star, write, produce, and direct the film. The multi-hyphenate will also play the lead role, a chef who loses his job and decides to start up a food truck, with the hope that he can re-ignite that culinary spark within, while getting back in touch with his estranged family. Sofía Vergara, John Leguizamo and Bobby Cannavale are also starring. No details were given for Robert Downey Jr.'s character, or any of the supporting roles. Jon Favreau is producing alongside Aldamisa co-chairman Sergei Bespalov and Karen Gilchrist. Aldamisa is financing the project, and will begin selling the project at Cannes next week. Here's what Jon Favreau had to say about the story. "Setting a film in the culinary world of Los Angeles offers wonderful opportunities for a character driven comedy." Production will begin July 8 in Los Angeles. Chef comes to theaters in 2015 and stars Jon Favreau, Sofía Vergara, John Leguizamo, Bobby Cannavale, Robert Downey Jr.. | BOX OFFICE: IRON MAN 3 Holds On To #1 Despite Competition From THE GREAT GATSBY Posted: 11 May 2013 08:56 AM PDT Warner Bros. must be feeling very pleased with themselves this weekend after The Great Gatsby took an admirable $19.4 million after opening late on Thursday. Iron Man 3 was only slightly ahead with $19.7 million, a 72% drop from last Friday's huge opening. The Baz Luhrmann helmed take on the classic F. Scott Fitzgerald 1925 novel is expected to gross $53 million in its first weekend, although Mother's Day tomorrow may end up giving it a slight boost. Regardless, this still won't be enough to topple Iron Man 3 as the Shane Black helmed threequel is expected to end up with upwards of $67 million over by close of business on Sunday. That's a 62% drop from last week, but a very solid hold. As we reported yesterday, the movie is well on its way to crossing the $900 million mark today, despite Star Trek Into Darkness opening in key territories |
