The Act Of Killing - Trailer 2

In this chilling and inventive documentary, executive produced by Errol Morris (The Fog of War) and Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man), the filmmakers examine a country where death squad leaders are celebrated as heroes, challenging them to reenact their real-life mass killings in the style of the American movies they love. The hallucinatory result is a cinematic fever dream, an unsettling journey deep into the imaginations of mass murderers and the shockingly banal regime of corruption and impunity they inhabit. Shaking audiences at the 2012 Toronto and Telluride Film Festivals, TThe Act of Killing is an unprecedented film and, according to the Los Angeles Times, "could well change how you view the documentary form."

The Act of Killing comes to theaters July 19th, 2013 and stars Haji Anif, Syamsul Arifin, Sakhyan Asmara, Anwar Congo, Jusuf Kalla, Herman Koto, Haji Marzuki, Safit Pardede. The film is directed by Joshua Oppenheimer, Anonymous, Christine Cynn.

Two Pacific Rim 'Monster Big Fight' Photos

Posted: 28 May 2013 09:46 AM PDT

Kaiju have crept out of the depths of the ocean to wreck havoc on our planet, with the damage stretching from Philomath, Oregon to Tokyo, Japan. To fight this scourge, the nations of the world have gathered to create giant metal monsters of their own, known as Jaegers. We have two new shots from director Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim, which offer an up-close and personal look at these monsters and their 'Monster Big Fights'.

Speaking with Empire, director Guillermo del Toro teased his lifelong obsession with monsters and the occult.

"There was something weird about me from the beginning. I don't know exactly when I started loving monsters so much, but it was definitely early. When I was 4 or 5 years old, I would ask my mother, 'Can I sleep in the coffin tonight?' and I would lie down in a drawer or I would sleep in a toy box. There's even a recording of me, aged three or four, asking for a mandrake root, for Christmas, to use in magic rituals."

He then went onto talk about the inspiration behind the two fight scenes as hinted at in the above photos.

"In creating Pacific Rim, I wanted the fights to have structure, like the wrestling matches of my childhood, so each fight brings a very different kind of aesthetic and a different dynamic. The first fight is very operatic, theatrical: Wagnerian. It happens in the middle of an iceberg-strewn sea, in the middle of a storm, with huge waves crashing on the Jaeger and Kaiju. We worked really hard at making water a character in this movie, frequently referring to Hokusai or the Fuji wave, and trying to make the water enhanced and add to the drama. This fight tries to quote the majesty of a painting by Goya called the Colossus."

Pacific Rim comes to theaters July 12th, 2013 and stars Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Ron Perlman, Charlie Day, Rinko Kikuchi, Diego Klattenhoff, Burn Gorman, Robert Kazinsky. The film is directed by Guillermo del Toro.

Hugh Jackman Reveals His Enthusiasm For An AVENGERS And X-MEN Movie Crossover

Posted: 28 May 2013 09:25 AM PDT

Screen Rant has posted an excerpt from their interview with Hugh Jackman on the set of The Wolverine in which it is revealed that the Academy Award nominated actor would love to make some sort of Avengers and X-Men crossover a reality. As of right now, it's believed that the relationship between Marvel Studios and 20th Century Fox is not a good one - especially after the recent developments with Quicksilver - but Jackman hopes that they can one day put their differences and rights issues aside in order for the two franchises to somehow merge in the near future. "You know, obviously we have people from—one of the great things about this movie is that a lot of people from Marvel are here and it seems a lot more inclusive than it has been in the past. I don't know what's happening behind the scenes, but I think it's fantastic.

Hugh Jackman Reveals New Details About THE WOLVERINE

Posted: 28 May 2013 09:02 AM PDT

It's a time that comes in every young movies' life, the age-old right of passage where a film divulges a number of its secrets. I'm talking about an embargo lift of course and today, that process is currently unfolding for 20th Century Fox's The Wolverine which is directed by James Mangold and stars Hugh Jackman. Below, we have a few choice quotes from Jackman as he spoke with a number of online journalists on set-visit day. On playing Wolverine, the fan love for his character and his personal level of satisfaction with his portrayal of the character: JACKMAN: Well, first of all, you always look at the pedigree of anything and the character itself in the comic book series is incredibly popular, so I could never take sole credit for any of that. I'm really pleased the fans have similarly embraced me in the part because I

Speeding Justin Bieber Chased Down by Former NFL Star Keyshawn Johnson

UPDATE: TMZ claims several sources saw Justin driving, while RadarOnline.com puts Tyler, The Creator in the driver's seat that night.

Keyshawn Johnson is reportedly fed up with his neighbor Justin Bieber's driving habits and apparently tried to chase down the "Believe" singer Sunday night to give him a piece of his mind.

The way TMZ tells it, Keyshawn, a former NFL star, and his child were leaving a party in their exclusive and gated Calabasas community on Sunday night when the Biebs went flying past in his Ferrari.

The Avengers 2 Will Focus on the Heroes, Not the Villain Says Joss Whedon

Joss Whedon talks The Avengers 2 villain

Joss Whedon still hasn't confirmed who the villain is in The Avengers 2, although the director teased in April that Thanos, who popped up at the end of Marvel's The Avengers, may be saved for The Avengers 3. Here's what the filmmaker had to say about his villain in the Marvel Phase Two sequel.

"I'm very excited about the villain, and have a lot to say about him. But if you watch my shows, the one thing I've never been very good at is guest stars, because I've always been interested in the ensemble. With The Avengers, I'm still most fascinated by them. The other thing is, you don't try to top it. I know I will never make a moment as pleasing in a film as Hulk and Loki. You can't chase that dragon. If you try to do exactly the same thing, the chances you're going to do it better are very slim, and the only reason for me to devote three years to making another Avengers movie is the hope of making a better one."

The filmmaker has already confirmed that superhero siblings Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch will be a part of The Avengers 2. We reported in April that production will begin in early 2014 in the U.K.

The Avengers 2 comes to theaters May 1st, 2015 and stars Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Mark Ruffalo. The film is directed by Joss Whedon.
