Posted: 20 May 2013 11:11 AM PDT

They don't make movies like they used to -- which is why James Caan was happy to go back to the 1970s in Guillaume Canet's "Blood Ties." An icon of '70s cinema through his role as Sonny Corleone in "The Godfather," Caan plays the patriarch of a divided family in the Brooklyn-set drama. His younger son, played by Billy Crudup, is a cop; the elder, played by Clive Owen, is an ex-con trying halfheartedly to go straight.

Ellen Page On Returning As Kitty Pryde For X-MEN: DOFP

Posted: 20 May 2013 09:49 AM PDT

As most of us know, Kitty Pryde (aka Shadowcat) plays an integral role in the events of Chris Claremont's Days Of Future Past comic arc. Given that, fans might have expected the character to appear in Bryan Singer's movie, but considering the actress who played Kitty previously did so under Brett Ratner for X-Men 3, it was a surprise when it was announced that Singer had brought Ellen Page on board..and not only for us -- it seems Page was just as shocked. "I didn't know for that long. I knew they were kind of doing it, but I didn't expect it," the actress reveals to Collider. "I didn't expect to play Kitty Pryde again, so when that came up and I met with Bryan, because I didn't work with Bryan I worked with Brett Ratner, it was just awesome. I feel so grateful to be back… Really,

Posted: 20 May 2013 09:47 AM PDT

"No, I haven't done any auditions," Gina Carano told Collider in a recent interview when asked if she'd auditioned for any superhero roles as of late. The actress has expressed interest in playing Wonder Woman several times in the past, and while that may not be on the horizon right now, there has been some discussion about suiting up on the big screen at some point or another. " There have been talks about some different characters. That's a dream to put on a costume and be a whole other level of character, but I think that...we're looking at a whole bunch of different things right now. There's always the possibility that some day I will be a comic book character that I'll play and I'm not sure who that's going to be. It would be very fun and fascinating. We'll just have to see where my

Aliens, Terminator, Predator, The Thing, A New Movie From The People Who Brought You These Movies!

Posted: 20 May 2013 08:27 AM PDT

I'm a big fan of these movies, and I'm coming out in support of the folks at Amalgamated Dynamics as they try to make their own practical effects based film: Harbinger Down

"What is Harbinger Down?

In the spirit of sci-fi/horror classics, Alien and The Thing, Harbinger Down is a tense, claustrophobic full-length creature film that will feature only practical Animatronic and Makeup Effects.

If you're a fan of the art of Animatronics and Makeup FX, you know that this technique is overlooked by the big studios. I'm hoping that you will help us change that by supporting this labor of love. I will write and direct and ADI co-founder Tom Woodruff, Jr. will produce.

Our company, Amalgamated Dynamics, will create the kind of Oscar caliber Creature Effects for which we are known. The Story

A group of grad students have booked passage on the fishing trawler Harbinger to study the effects of global warming on a pod of Orcas in the Bering Sea. When the ship's crew dredges up a recently thawed piece of old Soviet space wreckage, things get downright deadly. It seems that the Russians experimented with tardigrades, tiny resilient animals able to withstand the extremes of space radiation. The creatures survived, but not without mutation.

Now the crew is exposed to aggressively mutating organisms. And after being locked in ice for 3 decades, the creatures aren't about to give up the warmth of human companionship."

It will star Lance Henriksen.
