Justice League Is Not Coming Right Away Says Henry Cavill

Posted: 25 Jun 2013 09:49 AM PDT

Henry Cavill doesn't think Justice League should happen quite yet

Back in January, we reported that the fate of Warner Bros. superhero ensemble Justice League solely relied upon Man of Steel being a big hit at the box office. With just under $400 million in worldwide box office receipts after just under two weeks, Man of Steel is a surefire hit, but Superman himself, Henry Cavill, thinks that Justice League shouldn't happen right away. Here's what the actor had to say, during an appearance on Good Morning America today.

"Justice League, more movies, I have no idea. Justice League could be great if done correctly. It's a very tough one to do because the DC comic heroes are all god-like in their power. So in this real world setting we're telling our story in, it's going to be tough to achieve that and it has to be done very delicately with a lot of thought. So, it won't be right away, I hope it's not anyway. It may take some time of building up other movies and other characters and introducing them together in one way or another. I think it would be great to do, but I don't think it's around the corner."

We reported earlier this month that the upcoming sequel Man of Steel 2 is serving as a catalyst for the Justice League, paving the way for this ensemble to form, perhaps in a fashion similar to how the Marvel Phase One movies culminated in Marvel's The Avengers.

There was also a report from last week that revealed Man of Steel 2 is being put on the fast track to debut in 2014, with Justice League coming in 2015. However, given the size and scope of these movies, that might be too tight of a schedule. Nothing has been confirmed regarding Justice League yet, so stay tuned.

Justice League comes to theaters in 2015.
