Franchise star Milla Jovovich will also answer questions from the fans in a live streaming webchat June 14 at 11 AM ET, before the trailer launches. Frog and Toad in Development at the Jim Henson Company Posted: 08 Jun 2012 04:52 PM PDT The Jim Henson Company has acquired rights to the beloved children's books Frog and Toad and is developing an animated feature film. Written and illustrated by Arnold Lobel in the 1970s, each of the four Frog and Toad books include five short stories chronicling the exploits of a frog and his friend, a toad, simply named Frog and Toad. "Frog and Toad has tremendous value with parents who read these charming stories when they were children and are now sharing them with their own kids," said Lisa Henson, CEO of The Jim Henson Company. "With such high caliber talent on board, the delightful and funny adventures of these two great friends--with a nod to the classic 'buddy movie'--will bring a whole new audience to their big screen debut." Lisa Henson will produce for The Jim Henson Company. Adam Lobel and Adrianne Lobel will executive produce. Craig Bartlett (Hey Arnold!) will write the screenplay and Cory Edwards (Hoodwinked) is attached to direct. The Jim Henson Company has also signed a deal with HarperCollins Children's Books to develop and implement the first-ever multi-category licensing and merchandising program in the U.S. and Canada for the classic literary property. The Company will be presenting Frog and Toad at the upcoming Licensing Expo in Las Vegas. Melissa Segal, Senior Vice President of Global Consumer Products at The Jim Henson Company said, "As the feature film develops we will be looking to grow awareness of the property with licensed products based on the wonderful body of art from the original classic books in primary categories like apparel, accessories, gifts, toys, home furnishings and room decor. The Hangover Part III Eyes a Trip to Tijiuana Posted: 09 Jun 2012 10:54 AM PDT The Wolf Pack is most definitely coming back in The Hangover Part III, with production slated to begin in September. The comedy sequel will reportedly be shot in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and the Mexican tourist locale, Tijiuana. Here's what an anonymous source revealed about the shooting locations. "A lot of it will be shot in Los Angeles, but then they are going to do the crazy scenes in Las Vegas again and then one wild week in Tijuana." Another report revealed that the Las Vegas scenes will be filmed on and off the Vegas strip, and in Caesar's Palace. Story details haven't been confirmed yet, but the plot will allegedly revolve around Stu (Ed Helms) and Phil (Bradley Cooper) breaking Alan (Zach Galifianakis) out of a mental institution. Todd Phillips is directing from a screenplay he is co-writing with Craig Mazin. The Hangover Part III comes to theaters May 24th, 2013 and stars Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms, Bradley Cooper, Mike Tyson. The film is directed by Todd Phillips.

Dirty Dancing Remake Pushed to 2014 by Lionsgate Posted: 09 Jun 2012 10:51 AM PDT Lionsgate has pulled the remake Dirty Dancing from its 2013 release slate due to casting issues. We reported back in November that the studio was set to release the remake on July 26, 2013. Now the drama won't hit theaters until at least 2014. Kenny Ortega is still attached to direct, working from a screenplay by Glee creator Brad Falchuk. We reported in April that he was reworking an original draft by Maria Maggenti. This remake is also said to use classic songs from the 1960s, songs from the original movie, and contemporary tracks. The original Dirty Dancing made stars out of Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey in 1987. Kenny Ortega served as the dance choreographer in the original classic, which took in $215 million worldwide. Dirty Dancing comes to theaters in 2014. The film is directed by Kenny Ortega.

Thor 2 Loses Joshua Dallas as Fandral; Eyes Zachary Levi Posted: 09 Jun 2012 11:02 AM PDT We know that Chris Hemsworth will be back as the mighty Thor in the sequel Thor 2, but one of his trusted Warriors Three will not be returning. Joshua Dallas confirmed that he is not coming back as Fandral for the superhero follow-up, because of his commitment to the ABC series Once Upon a Time. Here's what the actor had to say about leaving the character behind. "I'll be missing out on wearing all that hair. The timing wasn't right. I'm bummed about it because I had such a great experience and great time making the first film and was really excited about coming back. Marvel and Disney tried to make it work. But because of my commitment to Once Upon a Time, I was not going to be able to do both. So I'll have to hand the reins over to someone else. I love Marvel. I wish them all the best. I will certainly be first in line to see it. On the other hand, I'm going back to the best job on TV. I love it and can't wait to delve in more." Marvel Studios will recast the role, with Zachary Levi said to be in early talks for Fandral. The ink isn't dry on this deal yet, but it is likely since he was first up for the role in the original. Production begins on Once Upon a Time Season 2 next month in Vancouver, and shooting on Thor 2 is scheduled to start later this summer. Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, and Idris Elba are confirmed to return for the superhero sequel. Thor 2 comes to theaters November 8th, 2013 and stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Idris Elba. The film is directed by Alan Taylor.

Benjamin Walker Joins The Great Wall Posted: 08 Jun 2012 02:53 PM PDT Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter star Benjamin Walker has joined the cast of The Great Wall for Legendary East and director Edward Zwick. The project is the first to be developed under Legendary Pictures' new Legendary East banner. The story revolves around the mystery of why The Great Wall of China was built. We reported back in February that Henry Cavill will also star, although no details were given on either of the actors' characters. Edward Zwick is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Marshall Herskovitz, based on an original idea by Legendary Pictures executive Thomas Tull and World War Z author Max Brooks. Jon Jashni, Alex Gartner, and Charles Roven will produce alongside Edward Zwick, Marshall Herskovitz, and Thomas Tull. No production schedule was released. The Great Wall comes to theaters in 2013 and stars Henry Cavill, Benjamin Walker. The film is directed by Edward Zwick.
