The 15 Reasons ‘Brave’ Doesn’t Feel Like a “Pixar” Film

Who is the best movie villian of all time?

Posted: 25 Jun 2012 10:29 AM PDT

I know that Heath Ledger as the Joker in The Dark Knight will be the popular choice, but I'm going with Javier Bardem as Anton in No Country For Old Men.

Happy 30th birthday to John Carpenter's The Thing.

Posted: 25 Jun 2012 10:39 AM PDT

Hard to believe that both The Thing and Blade Runner were released on the same day, thirty years ago. Both films didn't do so hot at the box office as E.T. was raking in the love with his little glow finger.

The Thing is hardly considered a classic. I disagree, and consider it one of the few films in the pantheon of "perfect film." I would not change a frame. What says you?

HERE's a write up on The Thing that I wrote.

What are the movies that you were really excited about and then let you down?

Posted: 25 Jun 2012 10:18 AM PDT

I saw the post about movies that people didn't think would be good and turned out to be fantastic: http://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/vklw7/movies_that_you_didnt_think_were_going_to_be_good/

It got me thinking about movies that people were really excited about and then disappointed us.

I'll start:

Ocean's Eleven - the trailer made it seem cool and stylish but I'm one of the few people who found it over-long and a little bit boring in parts.

Rope (Alfred Hitchcock) - a stellar cast and a brilliant set-up should have made this movie a hit with everyone but I felt the premise was wasted and the tensions was non-existent.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - everyone loved it, I didn't. And I feel terrible because Adaptation is one of my favourite films. Despite my expectations, this one didn't do it for me.

What are the films that didn't live up to your expectations?

Paris Hilton's DJ Set Is Terrible, Of Course -- Video Proof

Paris Hilton DJAFP PHOTO

If I can just twist this nob a bit, then maybe it'll sound better.

Everyone's favorite socialite screw-up, Paris Hilton, has conquered reality television, acting and homemade porn -- now she's trying her hand at DJing. And boy, is it going so well! (I kid! I kid!)

In the words of Mixmag, the auditory "car crash" took place at the Pop Music Festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil where Hilton blasted an unsuspecting audience with juiced-up top ten'ers.

Let's be honest here: Several mistakes were made. To start, during Gotye's "Somebody I Used to Know," the DJ-in-training accidentally shifts the pitch of the song, giving the mix a warble like a warped vinyl record.

We're getting closer and closer to the release of The Amazing Spider-Man, and yet another new featurette for the film has been released. Despite the fact that it features little in the way of new footage (some would argue that Sony has revealed more than enough at this point anyway) it does offer some insight into the importance of both Oscorp and the design of the building and sets. Check it out below, sound off with your thoughts in the usual place and make sure to stay tuned to CBM over the next week for more of our coverage of the film. The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and
