Weekend Box Office Update: Who Slashed the Competition?

Posted: 24 Jun 2012 10:59 AM PDT

It was a highly anticipated weekend at the box office with the release of Pixar's first princess in "Brave" and an intriguing concept in "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Slayer." Which film drew in the largest crowd?

For the 13th time, Pixar Animation took the top spot during their opening weekend. The 3-D film "Brave" debuted strong at $66.7 million, according to an estimate from Walt Disney Studios. "Lincoln" though was off to an underwhelming start, grossing $16.5 mil.

What are some movies that actually scared you?

Posted: 24 Jun 2012 09:13 AM PDT

I would have to say that I am legitimately scared of Edward Scissorhands. I'm not sure why that scared me more than The Shining or The Exorcist, maybe because I wasn't expecting it to be so dark.

Concerning the ending of Jumanji...

Posted: 24 Jun 2012 09:27 AM PDT

Alright, this is the thing: I just re-watched Jumanji after a long time, and the final scene, where Alan and Sarah are grownups again and meet the kids, is slightly different from what I remembered. As I recalled, the presents they give the kids turn out to be these sneakers branded "Jumanji", which the kids love but fail to recognise the name at all, to Alan's dissapointment. The ending I just watched is not like this at all, it just has the "don't go skiing" gag, and then it cuts to an outside shot of the house, and finally the french girls. So, what's the deal? Did I dream that other ending? Is this another one of those awful TV edits? Maybe I read it in the book, but never watched it? If this is the case, that was a damn well written book, as I perfectly remember the "Jumanji" logo on those shoes. Reddit, help me sleep tonight.

Swedish House Mafia are calling it a day, at least in terms of touring, the trio have announced via their website.

"Today we want to share with you that the tour we are about to go on will be our last," reads the official statement. "We want to thank every single one of you that came with us on this journey. We came, we raved, we loved."

At present, Swedish House Mafia's tour schedule includes only three dates, all of which are in Europe, but the group plans to announce the "final leg of this journey" in August. While there's no word yet on whether Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso and Christofer Hedfors, aka Axwell, will continue to record music together, Billboard points out that the Mafia's members have always been primarily interested in their solo careers.
