Playing on an outdoor stage or any temporary stage for that matter may never be the same for bands.

Before the Sheepdogs were set to rock out at East Zwick's Park in Belleville, ON -- on an evening bill with Three Days Grace, Metric and Arkells on June 16 -- the Saskatchewan-reared band heard news of the stage collapse that afternoon before the Radiohead/Caribou concert at Toronto's Downsview Park which killed one person (now identified as Radiohead's drum tech Scott Johnson, 33).

"Before we got onstage, I was looking up at the stage and looking all around, and who was around," guitarist Liot Hansen tells Spinner. "It would be quite a tragedy if something like that did happen and we were there. Let's hope those things are limited in the future."

Unforgettable might be getting a second chance on CBS.

The network is in discussions to bring back the canceled series for a 13-episode run next summer, TVGuide.com has confirmed. Deadline first reported the news.

CBS axes freshman series Unforgettable, NYC 22 and Rob

The procedural, starring Poppy Montgomery as a detective who has the ability to remember everything, was canceled in May despite steady ratings; it averaged 11 million viewers and a 2.5 in the adults 18-to-49 demo in its first season.

CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler later said that the cancellation was a "difficult" decision that was made after looking at the network's pilots. "I don't know if it's what went wrong [with Unforgettable]. It was more about what went right with the new pilots," she said.

Who Shot Rock & Roll is the first major museum exhibit to spotlight the creative and collaborative role that photographers played in the history of rock music. Created by the Brooklyn Museum with guest curator and author Gail Buckland, the exhibit opens on June 23 and runs through October 12 in Los Angeles at the Annenberg Space for Photography in Century City.

The show, which has been on the road for five years, features 166 prints from iconic photographers such as Diane Arbus, Danny Clinch, Anton Corbijn, Dennis Hopper, Richard Kern, David LaChapelle, Annie Leibovitz, Jim Marshall, Linda McCartney, Storm Thorgerson and many more.

The Los Angeles showing of this exhibit will feature an original documentary film produced by Arclight Productions exclusively for the Annenberg Space for Photography. The short film features new photographs, interviews and behind the scenes footage with exhibit photographers Ed Colver, Henry Diltz, Jill Furmanovsky, Lynn Goldsmith, Bob Gruen, Norman Seeff, Mark Seliger and Guy Webster. The film will also include appearances by recording artists including Alice Cooper, Noel Gallagher, Debbie Harry and Henry Rollins.

Spinner had the pleasure of speaking with Ms. Buckland, a renowned author and photography curator, about the show she put together.

With a subject that spans so many photographers, where do you begin?

There was more schlock than in any subject I've ever seen, so it was harder to find the gems. That said, my attitude was that every image in the exhibit and in my book would be a great image. I'm a photo historian, so the challenge was something I truly live for.

Pacific Rim Kaiju Monsters Set to Destroy Tokyo, Hong Kong, and San Francisco!

Posted: 20 Jun 2012 10:50 AM PDT

Director Guillermo del Toro describes the battle scenes in Pacific Rim

Earlier this month, director Guillermo del Toro revealed new details about his highly-anticipated monster movie Pacific Rim, describing the enormous sets they had to build.

Today, we have more information from the filmmaker, who revealed more battle locations that take place all over the world, on land and at sea.

"We had a Tokyo scene that we shot here in Toronto. We had several Hong Kong scenes and a few scenes in Australia, through the television. We briefly see the kaiju take over San Francisco. The whole Pacific Rim needs a sense of danger. We take the battles far and above! Two or three of them happen in places where there have never been a battle between kaiju and robots. From the bottom of the ocean to the atmosphere of the Earth. We have a battle in a storm at sea. Every battle we try to do differently. One is seen from the point of view of a single person. We never cut away from that point of view."

The story revolves around gigantic robots that are build to fight off the attacking kaiju monsters. The director also gave more details about these fighting machines, and the weapons they carry.

"The robots are real machines rather than movie machines - gorgeous and functional at the same time. Each of the robots, when they step in, has their own personality. One has a huge spiky mace made of iron, and another has a giant battleaxe. You don't go, 'I wonder what his fighting style is?' You immediately understand what his fight style is!"

Pacific Rim comes to theaters July 12th, 2013 and stars Idris Elba, Charlie Hunnam, Ron Perlman, Charlie Day, Clifton Collins Jr., Max Martini, Robert Maillet, Rinko Kikuchi. The film is directed by Guillermo del Toro.

Spike Lee returns to his roots as both a director and an actor with his latest project Red Hook Summer, which follows the adventures of a young boy uprooted from Atlanta and forced to spend the summer with his grandfather's congregation in Brooklyn. The first poster and a hi-res photo gallery have been released, featuring cast members Quincy Tyler Bernstine, Jules Brown, Thomas Jefferson Byrd, and Clarke Peters. Sadly, we get no evidence of Spike Lee reprising his role as Mr. Mookie, which we'll have to wait and see when the film hits theaters later this summer.
