Gino DePinto, AOL

The Hives have a "hatred of silence," as singer Howlin' Pelle Almqvist told us during a recent In House visit to Spinner headquarters, and when these Swedish rockers play live, they wage total war on peace and quiet.

Their concerts are nothing short of thrilling, and we want to share the Hives live experience with you. The band is coming back to tape an AOL Sessions performance at an intimate New York City studio, and we need fans to scream and shout and cheer them on. Click here for a chance to win tickets to this once-in-a-lifetime performance.

The contest ends on June 19, 2012, at 3PM EST. After that, we'll pick 10 lucky winners (subject to eligibility), each of whom will get two tickets for the Sessions taping. Good luck!

Saturday's tragedy at Toronto's Downsview Park where Radiohead drum technician Scott Johnson died following a stage collapse has raised serious and very legitimate questions as to how temporary outdoor staging is handled.

According to a Canadian Press report, the Ontario Ministry of Labour were examining the area yesterday, trying to find the exact cause of the mishap. A ministry spokesperson said the "fairly complex" incident could mean a lengthy investigation into what happened. But some within the staging industry say a lack of clear, transparent guidelines is one reason.

"In some cases, it is not clear who's going to say, 'That's not OK,' or 'That doesn't meet the standard,'" Stratford-based safety consultant Janet Sellery said. "I think there's a lot of performances and events that may go on with a lot of fingers crossed."

Toronto's Burning Boyz were more than a little terrified when they first played Yonge-Dundas Square as part of NXNE five years ago.

"We were shaking when we got on stage," singer and guitarist Flynn Tanner told Spinner about the now-12- and 13-year old band members' first festival show.

If this past Saturday's performance was any indication, the four band members -- Tanner, Reed Hollett, Jack White and Dexter Hornsby -- are practically old pros now.

Spinner spoke to the band on camera backstage after their set.
