Gino DePinto, AOL

On a sweltering New York City afternoon, the Hives came up to Harlem for a special AOL Sessions taping. In front of an audience of 40 -- including one super fan who flew out from Denver after winning a ticket to the show -- the Swedish rockers tore through a six-song set that included tracks off their new album, Lex Hives, as well two of their classic bangers.

If you need any proof that they're the best live band going -- or, in their opinion, of all time -- check out video of the Hives' Sessions performance, and stick around to read their hilarious Q&A about dangerous stages, their brilliant idea for a 20th-anniversary celebration and how they'll put on the same show for 40 or 40,000 people.

What are the most interesting interpretations of films that are largely considered of little value?

Posted: 26 Jun 2012 06:40 AM PDT

Having just watched Tarantino's interpretation of Top Gun, it got me thinking are there any other interesting theories or interpretations surrounding films that wouldn't normally recieve a great deal of critical discussion?

Another way of wording it might be are there films that you strongly feel have more depth to them than they get credit for?

Fans were broken-hearted when Toronto's Broken Social Scene announced an indefinite hiatus back in 2011. Though it's been almost year since the band's final performance, bassist Brendan Canning tells Spinner he's had little time to bask in past glories.

"We finished our last gig in style in Rio de Janeiro. It was a classic end to a long and crazy ride," Canning tells Spinner. "But I don't think enough time has passed to really look back."

Canning stays in touch with fellow Social Scene co-founder Kevin Drew, and says the two are open to a future reunion. BSS fans shouldn't hold their breath waiting, though. Canning has other things on the go.

Amazing-Spiderman director shoots down reshoot rumors

Posted: 26 Jun 2012 10:41 AM PDT

We've all heard the rumors...supposedly, Marc Webb changed Spider-Man's origin story just a bit to make Peter's parents be the source of his powers, not necessarily the spider bite. After fanboy screams, he allegedly went back to do reshoots to help incorporate the spider bite more into the story. As it turns out, that was a rumor that started on the internet and has no basis in reality, according to the movie's director. In an interview with Huffington Post, Marc Webb tries to put those rumors to rest once and for all: Huffington Post: I have heard rumors that you wanted Peter's parents to be the source of his powers, not the traditional accidental radioactive spider bite. There are rumors of a reshoot to incorporate the more traditional spider bite. Marc Webb: I think there was something on the internet. Huffington Post: I want to clear that up. Marc Webb: It's completely false. Huffington Post: So
