'So You Think You Can Dance': Meet the Top 20! Posted: 28 Jun 2012 10:48 AM PDT After a nationwide talent search, "So You Think You Can Dance" judges Mary Murphy, Nigel Lythgoe, Debbie Allen and Adam Shankman revealed the top 20 dancers who will compete on season 9. The new twist revealed Wednesday night is that one male and one female will be chosen as this season's champs. "SYTYC" is also switching its schedule to air one day a week, forcing the show to combine results and live performances in a single episode. |

High & Outside: A Baseball Noir Trailer Posted: 28 Jun 2012 10:52 AM PDT Standard 17 Productions has released a trailer for their upcoming project High & Outside: A Baseball Noir. The production company has also announced that Geoffrey Lewis and The Jesus Lizard singer David Yow have joined the cast. High & Outside A Baseball Noir - TrailerStandard 17 Productions, the team behind 2011's indie comedy Stan, is gearing up for their second feature film: High & Outside: A Baseball Noir. Directed by Evald Johnson, the film is based on his personal experiences as the son of a Major League baseball player turned controversial manager. High & Outside: A Baseball Noir tells the story of one man's dream to play professional baseball and the desperate measures he takes to keep that dream alive. The company has cast several of the main roles including the veteran actor Geoffrey Lewis as the pivotal father and baseball legend Len Harding. Best known for a run of films alongside Clint Eastwood in the '70s, Lewis' performances in High Plains Drifter, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot and Every Which Way But Loose made Lewis a legend in his own right. Also on board is David Yow, the notorious front man for seminal post-punk bands Scratch Acid and The Jesus Lizard. Yow has launched an acting career over the last few years, and is churning out stellar performances in feature films and shorts. Posted: 28 Jun 2012 10:17 AM PDT The CW network has officially announced its fall 2012 schedule. Among the shows listed was Arrow, based on the DC Comics character Green Arrow/Oliver Queen. We previously heard that the show, which stars Stephen Amell as "Arrow", was picked up for a full series order a couple months ago. Now, the studio has confirmed the precise date and time for its series premiere: WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 10th 8:00-9:00 PM - ARROW (Series Premiere) 9:00-10:00 PM - SUPERNATURAL Additionally, the long-running Supernatural will begin its eighth season on October 3rd at 9:00 PM, while an episode will air on Wednesdays following Arrow. The routing is different than the previously scheduled dates with Rome (Sept. 22), Florence (Sept. 23), Bologna (Sept. 25) and Codroipo (Sept. 26) confirmed. The two dates in Berlin originally slated for July 6-7 now take place on Sept. 29-30. Drummer Phil Selway also posted a short note addressing Johnson's passing and the reaction from fans worldwide. "Thanks to all of you who have sent messages of support over these past couple of weeks," he wrote. "Scott has touched many people's lives and all your sentiments are testament to this. Our thoughts and love remain with Scott's family." |
