Joe Quesada Talks Marvel Movies; Drops Hint About Another Movie Announcement Posted: 13 Oct 2012 10:28 AM PDT New York Comic Con is in full swing, and while announcements haven't been coming in abundance we have gotten a few nuggets. Newsarama sat down with Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada during the Con where he talked about a number of things from splitting his time on the east and west coast, east being the comic book side of his job west being the movie side, to what we can look forward to from Marvel movies. The first thing He talked about was Guardians Of The Galaxy. With Marvel doing their version of a soft reboot, titled Marvel Now, Quesada said you can expect the GOTG comic book to go along with the movie in some ways. Going in Style Remake Moves Forward at New Line Cinema Posted: 12 Oct 2012 06:57 PM PDT New Line Cinema is mounting a remake of the 1979 heist comedy Going in Style, hiring Theodore Melfi (St. Vincent de Van Nuys) to write the screenplay. George Burns, Art Carney, and Lee Strasberg starred in the original, portraying three senior citizens who decide to rob a bank. Martin Brest made his directorial debut on the comedy, and went on to make hits such as Beverly Hills Cop, Spies Like Us, and Midnight Run. Donald De Line has signed on to produce, with Tony Bill, a producer on the original, serving as executive producer. No production schedule was given. Going in Style was released November 1979 and stars George Burns, Art Carney, Lee Strasberg, Charles Hallahan, Pamela Payton-Wright, Siobhan Keegan, Brian Neville, Constantine Hartofolis. The film is directed by Martin Brest. |
