A sequel to the huge box office hit, co-screenwriter and star Sylvester Stallone, takes fans on another intense adventure with his rogue team of misfits. In addition to Sylvester Stallone, The Expendables 2 features an all-star team of the most bad-ass classic action stars of all time including Jason Statham (Safe, The Transporter), Jet Li (Hero, Romeo Must Die), Dolph Lundgren (Rocky IV, Universal Soldier), Terry Crews (Terminator Salvation, Gamer), Randy Couture (Setup) with Bruce Willis (Die Hard) and Arnold Schwarzenegger (The Terminator, Total Recall) and newest cast members Chuck Norris (TV's Walker, Texas Ranger, The Delta Force), Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games), Scott Adkins (The Bourne Ultimatum) also Jean-Claude Van Damme (Double Impact, Timecop) and the first female Expendable Nan Yu (In Love We Trust). Favorite movies where the protagonist dies? [Spoilers] Posted: 09 Oct 2012 10:03 AM PDT |
I need to pick the brains of some movie buffs! Posted: 09 Oct 2012 10:23 AM PDT I'm after the name of a film I watched. I can't remember any of the actors or the genre, only that the final stages of the plot revolved around a particular con called a "Ponzi Scheme". A Ponzi Scheme is where a conman promises a particularly large return of intrest to his mark, thus getting him to part with his cash. The conman then either returns a large portion of the cash as "Intrest" or seeks out another mark and, having duped the second mark, returns the second investment to the first investor as "interest". Thus convincing the first mark that the scheme is genuine and encouraging him to part with yet more cash. The cycle in a Ponzi Scheme continues in this fashion, with more marks being drawn in by word of mouth and the aparent success of the scheme, more money is handed over, and as a result more "interest" is returned to the marks. The scheme eventually collapses under it's own weight once the promised return outstrips the amount invested, at which point the conman cashes out with what ever money he has in his possesion. Now I definetly remember watching this unfold in the closing scenes of a film where the main character is simply passing money back and forth between his enemies who he has managed to convince that he can get them intrest on there investments in exchange for sparing his life. But I can't for the life of me remember anything else about it. Also to make things extra tricky the con wasn't refered to as a Ponzi. But you guys love a challange. [link] [comment] |
