Tegan and Sara: Who Wears the (Sweat)Pants in the Family?

By the time they become international stars, most musicians have developed "a look." For KISS it's menacing makeup and spandex, for Amy Winehouse it was her signature beehive, and for Lady Gaga it can be anything from dresses made out of prosciutto to dresses made out of Kermit the Frogs.

For indie pop twins Tegan and Sara, their look may become... sweatpants. Just don't tell that to Sara Quin. The pair have a well-earned reputation for occasionally being quarrelsome with each other, and apparently the wearing of sweatpants is one issue where Tegan and Sara will never see eye to eye.

"Oh my god," starts Sara, telling Spinner about the newest cotton-fleece blend piece of Tegan and Sara merchandise. "Tegan became really obsessed about six months ago about doing sweatpants. Like, seriously, I can not tell you how many emails went back and forth between our management office and our art director and Tegan about sweatpant. I was like, 'Is this part of some sweatpant Olympics?' Like, I don't understand why this is such a high priority right now?"

The Colbert Report host Stephen Colbert is set to make a cameo in one of the second two The Hobbit movies. All that is known is that his role will not be featured in the first movie, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, although it isn't specified if he will appear in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug or The Hobbit: There and Back Again.

Here's what the comedian had to say about his trip to the set last year.

"Peter Jackson invited me to the set last year. I flew out and watched them shoot some scenes and went to some locations. I saw a 25-minute cut, and it was amazing. Jackson knows I'm a big fan of the films."

It isn't known if he will portray a featured character or just a background role. The comedian is a big fan of the entire J.R.R. Tolkien novel series, and he reportedly reads Elvish as well.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey comes to theaters December 14th, 2012 and stars Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman, Andy Serkis, Richard Armitage, Benedict Cumberbatch, Evangeline Lilly, Cate Blanchett, Elijah Wood. The film is directed by Peter Jackson.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug comes to theaters December 13th, 2013 and stars Ron Perlman, Hugo Weaving, Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis, Doug Jones, Kiran Shah, Billy Connolly.

The Hobbit: There and Back Again comes to theaters July 18th, 2014 and stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Elijah Wood, Evangeline Lilly, Martin Freeman, Luke Evans, Cate Blanchett, Hugo Weaving, Orlando Bloom. The film is directed by Peter Jackson.

What happened to Disney?

Posted: 22 Oct 2012 08:27 AM PDT

I was listening to some older Disney soundtracks, and was wondering if anyone could tell me what happened, the quality of productions seems to have gone downhill recently.

I mean, just look at the timeline of Disney Theatrical releases and there really isn't a "slump" in quality until Brother Bear in 2003, and from then on the movies lost a certain "wow" factor.

So I was wondering, was there some sort of internal shake up at Disney? Did some leads leave? I don't think it's just nostalgia, as I routinely watch the movies to this day and listen to the songs.

I do think Wreck-it Ralph looks very good, however.

Note: This is for Disney's animated theatre films, this doesn't include things like Pixar who have almost always been golden.

The CW Orders Full Season Of ARROW

Posted: 22 Oct 2012 10:23 AM PDT

Depending on your opinion of Arrow, this will either make or ruin your day. According to TV Line, after just two episodes, the CW has made the decision to pick up the series for a full 22-episode run. That's about all the details we have right now, but after the series premiere became the network's most watched episode of a TV show in over three years, this isn't really all that surprising (especially after ratings dropped by only 15% by the second episode). Best way to start a Monday? Getting picked up for your back nine episodes. Thwick. #Arrow— Stephen Amell (@amellywood) October 22, 2012

Prince Sues Collection Agency After They Take $116,000 From Him

Prince has filed a lawsuit against a debut collections agency after claims the agency removed $116,000 from the rock star's bank account illegally.

According to the Inquisitr, Prince says the debt agency Capital Asset Protection collected the money from a lawsuit the singer lost regarding a music production contract. The two withdrawals took place in June with one amount totaling $105,949.14 and a second withdrawal for $10,278.94.

Lawyers for Prince filed the lawsuit last Thursday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, arguing the judge dropped the original judgement back in October 2011. By dropping the judgement the production company was no longer owed the money by Prince. As a result, if found to be true, the end result would be Capital Asset Protection removed money on a non-existent debt.
