Just watched Pulp Fiction for the first time in my life...[SPOILERS] Posted: 01 Jan 2013 10:50 AM PST So I gave Pulp Fiction a shot after all the praise it receives, and I must say, I am sort of disappointed. Now, my hype level was through the roof, before seeing this film. And how could it not? It's /tv/'s favorite film, probably /r/movies as well, and it is #4 on IMDB's top 250. So that could have an impact. When the end credits came, I thought to myself: "That... was Pulp Fiction?". I mean, it was a good movie. I liked the dialogue, but I didn't really feel attached to the characters. Vincent Vegas death didn't do anything for me (Was it supposed to?), and I did not care at all about Butch. Jules and Tarantino was the best for me, to be honest. Something about the story seemed off to me. And I am still a Tarantino fan, I loved Inglorious Bastards and both Kill Bill movies. Is Pulp Fiction, perhaps, a movie that gets better on multiple viewings? Like The Big Lebowski? EDIT: Not sure how to mark the thread as spoilers :( [link] [3 comments]

Posted: 01 Jan 2013 09:09 AM PST i'm trying to find this movie a watched with my Dad as a kid in the 90's. It was a lower budget sci-fi movie on TV but may have been an 80's movie. There's this super virus in a deep underground base. They thought they killed off all the copies but this stupid scientist lady keeps a copy in her underground apartment. She takes it out to look at it but her even dumber dog jumps at her to play and knocks it out of her hand, breaking it and venting the virus through the base ventilation system. The virus makes you age super fast, at least from childhood memory because the lady quickly becomes old and pets her aging dog until they both die. The ventilation leak spews into the base causing the base to start a self-destruct sequence and seals itself off. Everyone leaves. The protagonist and his girl barely make it out of a secret entrance in a farm barnhouse. They're lying there, breathing heavy and glad they survived. BUT WAIT! There's an AI powered semi truck that activates and decides to kill them possibly to prevent an outbreak, so they now have to fight a ROBOT SEMITRUCK. Can you see why I want to find this movie? Thank you everyone! [link] [4 comments]

COMICS: Will DAREDEVIL Be The First To Figure Out THE SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN's Identity? Posted: 01 Jan 2013 08:30 AM PST Daredevil no longer remembers Spider-Man's secret identity (as we learned in Amazing Spider-Man #600), but will his enhanced senses be able to figure out that there's something "different" with the wall-crawling superhero when they come to blows in Mark Waid and Chris Samnee's Daredevil #22? Well, we won't know until the issue goes on sale later this month, but it certainly seems as if Matt Murdock knows that there's SOMETHING strange about the way his longtime friend is acting; other than the fact he's attacking him of course. Will he deduct that this Superior Spider-Man is in fact Doctor Octopus in the body of Peter Parker? Be sure to sound off with your thoughts below!

Tom Hiddleston Teases Alan Taylor's “Amazing” New Direction For THOR: THE DARK WORLD Posted: 01 Jan 2013 06:41 AM PST Now that we're finally in the year of the Marvel sequel's Fall release date, the first visuals from Thor: The Dark World are sure to come sooner than later. However, without specified dates of a marketing push, we at least have more teasing from 'Loki' actor Tom Hiddleston. The English star recently chatted about The Dark World's "amazing," never-before-seen direction. "It's fantastic, truly. We are making an amazing film, and we're having a wonderful time. It's so exciting to have established characters and an established setting in the world, and we are working so hard to cook up something new. That is what is exciting to me - taking what we know, taking what we love and deepening it and giving it an extra dimension. I think director Alan Taylor is really shaping up the world of Asgard and the world of these characters" Meanwhile, Thor: The Dark World's special effects team
