AMAZON: CW Are Hunting For Their WONDER WOMAN; Show Compared To SMALLVILLE

Posted: 13 Jan 2013 08:54 AM PST

"We're waiting to see the script and are busy casting Diana," CW President Mark Pedowitz told journalists today when asked about how work on Amazon is progressing. While he didn't reveal who the network are currently considering for the role, he did shoot down any buzz that The Vampire Diaries' Phoebe Tonkin is set to play the iconic DC character: "We haven't thought about her in terms of Wonder Woman." As for whether or not the series will share any DNA with the ill-fated pilot from David E. Kelley, Pedowitz was quick to also shoot down any talk of that too. "I have not seen David's project [but] this is an origination story [like] Smallville]." Of course, that can either be taken as very good or very bad news. The first five seasons of Smallville made for great viewing, but it's hard to imagine that anyone wants to spend a decade

RUROUNI KENSHIN: Movie Review

Posted: 13 Jan 2013 08:53 AM PST

When it comes to anime/manga adaptation, the U.S. has a less-than-stellar track record with films like Dragonball: Evolution and Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. Many fans insist that Hollywood should just leave anime adaptations to their Far East counterparts. While I've generally found myself on the opposite side of that sentiment, Rurouni Kenshin goes a long way towards supporting the other side of the argument. Possessing a strong following in Japan and a devoted fanbase in America thanks to its Toonami run, Rurouni Kenshin should please both hardcore fans and first-time viewers alike. Watching the film, it was as if Takeru Sato (Kenshin), Munetaka Aoki (Sanosuke), Emi Takei (Kaoru) and Yû Aoi (Megumi) stepped out of the anime, each of the main actors channeled the core elements of their respective character admirably. However, in a crowd of strong performances, it's Teryuki Kagawa's turn as the

Producer Tony Visconti has opened up about David Bowie's health condition, denying that the singer is suffering from from the degenerative brain condition, Alzheimer's disease, and says that he's "not dying."

Visconti has spent time with Bowie working on his upcoming album, The Next Day, and insists that Bowie is in good health.

In an interview with Britain's The Sunday Telegraph newspaper, he says, "People thought he was dying. He's not dying any time soon, let me tell you ... He couldn't have done two years' work if he was a sick man. He's very healthy, he's very fit. He had the heart operation [in 2004, after collapsing on stage during a Germany concert] and that's it. He's long since recovered from that."
